Sunday Morning Breakfast

French Toast

Today seemed like a good day to make french toast for breakfast. Phillip spent all day at a Jazz Festival and got back very late so he is catching up on sleep this morning. I used Challah bread and topped it with real maple syrup, strawberries, and powdered sugar.

Here is the recipe:

Easy French Toast

2 beaten eggs
1/2 cup milk
1/4 teaspoon vanilla
1/8 teaspoon cinnamon
5 1-inch thick slices French or Challah bread or 6 slices white sandwich bread

In a shallow bowl beat together eggs, milk, vanilla and cinnamon. Dip bread into egg mixture, coating both sides. If using french or challah, let soak about 30 seconds each side.

In a skillet cook bread on both sides in a small amount of butter over medium heat until golden brown. Serve with maple syrup and powdered sugar.

Don't worry if you've already missed breakfast, this is yummy any time of day!
