Happy 4th of July!

Hello everyone! We are busy getting ready for the 4th of July. We went grocery shopping this morning and managed to beat most of the crowds. It looks like almost everyone we invited will be coming over tomorrow afternoon...around 20 people (including children). It has been raining every day for over a week so it will probably be an indoor party. That's fine with me since my back patio carpet smells like a wet dog!!

Here is a look at my menu for tomorrow...

Hamburgers
Hot dogs
Grilled chicken

Potato Salad
Baked Beans

Spinach and Strawberry salad
Big Mama's Green Sauce and tortilla chips

Watermelon
Peach Cobbler and vanilla ice cream
Flag Cake

I need to tidy up the house, make room in the pantry for the food still in grocery bags and do some food prep. This is procrastination at its finest! Who here thinks that blogging is more fun than making potato salad?! ;0)

I will be back on Thursday with pictures from our day. May you have a wonderful 4th of July with your friends and family!

  1. Your menu sounds delish! It's very warm here, but I think I'd rather have that than pouring rain for entertaining..
    Happy 4th!!

  4. I just finished the potato salad. I laughingly told my husband I was serving eggs and mayo tonight for our family 4th on the 3rd. Potato salad, layered pea salad, and deviled eggs! I just pick things they like. My boys think they can't eat at my house without deviled eggs and my husband loves potato salad. We're also having some other things--thank goodness!

Come on over to Cherish--I just gave you a little award. I think you ROCK! with Sow and Tell!

  5. Kelli, I hope you and yours have a wonderful and safe 4th of July.

    Your menu sounds delicious.

Also, I want you to know that I've been praying for you. I'm not sure where you are in Texas, but I'm a weather junkie and after seeing all of the flooding, I've been thinking about you and your family. We are in a severe drought here, so I would love the rain. But... I know that many parts of Texas have just had TOO much. I hope all is well with you.

  24. Blogging is more fun than almost anything else - especially cleaning house! We are going a much simpler route tonight, with grilled t-bone steaks. We call t-bones "dog steaks," and the doggies will have a 4th of July treat tonight. My husband doesn't like potato salad and I've never made it, but the Wood House restaurant here makes the best potato salad ever!

    Happy Fourth, Kelli!

  26. Kelli - I love your new header - relax - I need that! I know you have a computer savy that I don't and help from your hubby as well, but could you tell me what program you used to creat your header? I have been trying to shop for photo editing software and it is too confusing!

You decorations are great and your menu sounds so tasty - we'd be dropping by if it were not for a few hundred miles or more!

  30. I'd like to put in a vote that blooging is funner than making potato salad. Ooh I'd like to amend my vote. Eating potato salad while reading blogs is funner than making potato salad.

Happy Canada Day/Fourth of July to you too!

  37. Oh Kelli, your menu sounds so good. We had some great food at friends today and a little rain as well, but were still able to get off those big fire works!

Yes, I think blogging is much more fun than making potato salad, but I love eating potato salad an awful lot! Yum!

  38. Your menu looks delicious. That is pretty much what we ate too: hotdogs/ hamburgers/ tacos/ lots of salads and desserts.
