Hello everyone! Thank you for your comments on my "staying cool" post down below. We are tough here in Texas, we'll survive! :0) Many of you asked if my girls wore the outfits I shared with you this past Show and Tell Friday. They didn't wear these particular ones, but I have other baby clothes that they did wear. I will have to look for the pictures!

Today, I want to show you my new bedroom bookshelf. It was given to us by some friends a couple of weeks ago. We didn't really have room for it but we managed to squeeze it into our bedroom. In addition to holding books, I had some knick-knacks to display also. That is our kitty taking a very lazy nap on the top, btw!
The top shelf holds our Christmas and Advent books, and few photo albums.
This basket holds my Martha Stewart magazines. It helps to keep them from sliding off the shelves.
Pictures of the girls and Benjamin on the right...
My prairie books and Little House series on the left. The iron cookstove belonged to my great-grandmother.
The bottom two children's books were given to me by my Grandma.
My devotional books are on the right and my old fashioned sewing machine candle tart burner is in the middle.
Lastly, few of my favorite sewing books.
Thank you for looking at my new bedroom bookshelf!
I also organized our school books this week, I posted pictures right below this post.

Wow it looks like you have been very busy. Everything looks wonderful. I always love walking into a room full of books!
I enjoy organizing, it's work that rewards us with instant gratification. The shelves are looking all tidy and ready for use.
I am so excited. That cookstove on your new bookshelf looks exactly like the one I had in my doll house as a child. The oven door opened to the side, like a doorway door, rather than our modern oven doors which open down. It had a silver thing that I could put into the holes on the small burner covers to remove them *safely* without burning my fingers :) or to clean the stove if it got dirty while cooking :)
It also had the black iron skillets and kettles to cook with.
My mom has it now. I imagine if I asked for it she'd give it to me, but she displays it with other very old toys and kitchen utensils.
I was so excited when I saw yours. I am sure mine must be newer than your great grandmother's, but it was of course made to look like a very old antique. It fit perfectly in my doll house, complete with pottery made by my own mom.
Ha! How fun is that??
Lovely!
I really like your bedroom book shelf. You are very organized.
I also have the Little House on the Prairie series too.
Love the new bookshelf! I especially love the sleeping kitty on top! You have such wonderful trinkets! The cook stove is wonderful and how special that it belonged to your grandmother!
I think that the kitty on top is the perfect touch!
Hi Kelli! I love your new blog header. It looks great. Nice bookshelf also!
Your bookshelves all look so beautiful! I have so many books that I never have any room on my shelves for pretty things. We have homeschooled for over 12 years now and I'm also a bookaholic. I have books from when I was a child and I still have all the books from my two older children as well as the books from my younger girls. We have a little problem with book storage here at our house :)
I love how you organized and accessorized the new shelf!! I also had an iron stove like that one for my dollhouse, which had been my mom's as a little girl, and I have the same edition of the Little House Books, too!! Were they also the ones you had as a girl? Mine are all packed up in the garage. This makes me want to bring them all out to display, too!! =)
Looks great Kelli! Enjoy!
I love organizing too, its a great way to wind down :-) I enjoyed seeing all of your books and your little treasures! :-)
looks so pretty....Great idea for magazines, a basket..Never thought of that..
You have a lovely room..
Wow, you have been busy! It looks very nice I like how you have things arranged. (o:
Oh, what a relaxing place your new bookshelf must be - laying on top of it I mean.... ;-))
Wow, so many treasures! How great that you have those children's books that belonged to your Grandma. And what a cute cookstove and little sewing machine! Oh, I would love to take a closer look at this "Floral stiches" book!!!
We are going to have another rainy day today.
Best wishes, Anita
Your bookshelf looks really nicely organized Kelli! Love that little iron stove. A real keepsake :)
looks like you spent a lot of time with the books today. it must feel good to have them organized and to have a new bookcase to display treasured books and items. thanks for sharing.
I love it! That little iron cookstove is sooooo neat. What a cute little touch to your bookshelf.
Gotta love the lazy cats! :-)
Cute shelf! If it gets the "kitty approval" then I'd say it's a keeper!
God bless :)
Kelli -
Your bookshelf and all the special things on it are great. I have one of those little stoves. I don't even remember where I got it - years ago, long before I was married!

Love your new bedroom bookshelf. And I particularly love the kitty, napping on top. So typically kitty-ish! ^_^

I love how you combined old with new! I think bookshelves are the perfect touch in any room - it says instantly "This is a warm and cozy place!"
Nice! And your room doesn't look too cluttered -- I'm impressed.
You have got the cutest cat! :) And I like how you have organized the bookshelf - it looks really good.
Kelli everything you do is so nice to view and gives us the feeling of warmth and gratitude that you have for your home!
For this reason I have to ~give you something~ so come by my blog and see!! hugs NG
So neat and clean!
Blessings to you Kelli!
You are so organized! can you come and do my house???
Isn't it wonderful to have all your favorite books at your fingertips. You did a great job making everything look so pretty.
I'm just happy that I'm finally learning how to use the flash when taking photos so it doesn't look like I'm using the flash. It was kinda dark when I took these.
That makes up for Kelli not leaving any room on a shelf for my books. I've got an overflowing nightstand crying out for relief!
Love your bookshelf.
Oh, your books are so organized and it all looks so beautiful, too! Great job! :)
I really need to do organizing for the start of the school year, but I'm still recuperating from our whirlwind weekend- there's always next week, right? ;)
I have the same Laura Ingels books. Scott's dad got Madison a set for her birthday when she turned 7. I loved those books. And sometimes think of her times...remember the Waltons? I loved that show....they have a great Christmas show each year and so does Laura Ingles....little house on the prairie....good times.
I'm sure it feels great to have everything nice and neat on a new piece of furniture (which is very classy by the way).
I love filling bookshelves with books and special treasures. It just seems to make it apart of the home.
Very artfully arranged, Kelli! You have wonderful organizational skills.
Love how you have your books and acessories displayed, especially that sleeping kitty. Isn't it funny how they inspect every new item that we bring home?
Oh I get so overwhelmed when I think about organizing all of the books in my home library. I noticed your Mrs. Sharps Traditions. Love that! And the Thorton Burgess book...we've just started collecting the old first editions. My kids love them!
Now I am curious to find out what devotional books you've been reading!
