Hello everyone! I wanted to show you a simple project that I worked on this past week.
I had a very small harvest from my lavender plant this year, not enough to make lavender wands so I made mini lavender bundles instead.
If you don't have any lavender, you could use flowers from your florist or grocery store that dry well.
I gathered up a few sprigs and tied them together with a bow. I also added a small gift tag.
I found the Victorian images at antiqueclipart.com and printed them out on cardstock.
They are the perfect size for adding to the top of a wrapped gift or using as place cards for a summertime dinner or tea party.
You could also tuck one into a letter for a friend, which is what I ended up doing!
Let me know if you make some too!
I planted a lavender plant this summer, but it didn't bloom at all. It is still growing though, so maybe next year. Your lavender bundles are pretty!
ReplyDeleteThese are great little gifts Kelli!
ReplyDeleteOur dollar store had large lavender plants for $1 each and I picked up several. I love the fragrance (and a bargain!)
xo
Your lavender bundles are pretty!
ReplyDeleteI love the fragance.

This looks very pretty, Kelli! And thanks for the vintage image link!
ReplyDeleteWe had a quite relaxing week-end and I admired my two new roses a million times! I'll show lots of rose photos on my next S&T post. I am really in a sort of rose feaver now...
Thanks for the mail you sent yesterday, DH is checking the links now! ;-))
Have a great start into a new week!
XoX, Anita
You are just so creative, Kelli. Those look lovely. I have something for you over at my blog. :-)
ReplyDeleteHi Kelli ~ I saw some lavender bundles recently at our local yarn shop's open house. They were $6 a bunch! So...you are adding a nice touch to your gifts or letters when you include some lavender.
ReplyDeleteMine didn't do well this year with such a lack of rain. I'm planning on planting more lavender for next year and hopefully having enough for some bundles.
What a sweet post, I enjoyed it!! You used part of one of my all time favorite songs/ movies in your title!
ReplyDeleteBurl Ives is one of my all time favorite singers! :-)
Hope your having a wonderful weekend my friend!
Hey did you know you won an apron???
I LOVE this post!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteSoooo pretty. Have I mentioned I LOVE it!?! :)
Hugs,

Oh, I can just smell the lavender now! Your friends are blessed to have you.
ReplyDeleteWhat a neat little gift. I would have never thought of that.
ReplyDeleteThe cookies looked wonderful that your sister made. You are right...almost too pretty to eat!
how very nice. they are so pretty. who wouldn't want to receive one of those.
ReplyDeletePerfect thing to do with lavender. (Sounds so much faster than weaving them into wands, though they are gorgeous).
ReplyDeleteMy neighbor has a number of massive lavendar plants in bloom right now. I wonder if she would mind if I "harvested" some of them!
Kelli,what darling lavender bundles!
ReplyDeleteIt's been a funny year for lavender, either feast or famine.
Have a wonderful week ahead!
Those are so sweet and so simple. My lavender didn't grow much and didn't bloom. We haven't had rain, either. Hopefully next year I'll be able to harvest a little bit.
ReplyDeleteHow precious! You are so talented. :-)

And the scent is wonderful! I did grow some lavender just outside my kitchen door and it was lovely but I didn't get it harvested. Perhaps next summer. By now it's too dry.
ReplyDeleteI want to plant a few Lavender plants out front for next year. Somewhere near the door so you can smell it as you come up to the door!
ReplyDeleteTerri
Beautiful! Lavendar is so very lovely. I always enjoy seeing the latest thing you have made!
ReplyDeleteMy lavender didn't bloom this year. I was looking foward to it too. Great idea.
ReplyDeleteLavender grows very well in the drought here so I should have some nice flowers this year to make same of these darling bunches, a very nice idear.
ReplyDeleteLee-ann
How cute! Love it :)
ReplyDeleteGod bless :)
I have done them! Though, not as many. Seems you got a fair amount of lavendar out of your plants this year...I only got maybe 6-7 stalks.
ReplyDeleteAnother thing I did with them, that you might like to do sometime, is to decorate your guest towels with them. You hang the towel and then fold the washcloth to become a pocket and stick a sprig or two in the pocket.
It is very elegant and makes my guests feel extra special!
I love these....very sweet.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. I can almost smell the lavender...
ReplyDeleteI keep thinking i'll plant a row of lavender somewhere. I enjoy fragrant flowers.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I can almost smell it! What a wonderful idea to tuck some sprigs into a letter. The recipients will be delighted!
ReplyDeleteHi, there.
ReplyDeleteHope you had a great weekend.
I am too far South to grow Lavender :0(

ReplyDeleteKelli, your lavender bundles are beautiful! This is something I would like to plant--am not sure how it would do here in the midwest--will have to give it a try.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea. I love the fragrance of lavendar.
ReplyDeleteA lovely idea and what a wonderful gift for that special friend.
ReplyDeleteHi Kelli, I'm back. My computer woes are fixed and I'm back to school. Have you started home schooling yet? Love lavendar, need to get some for my garden next spring. Smiles.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely idea! Very pretty.
