A Hot Cup of Tea

Tea
I was so excited to see the Celestial Seasonings holiday teas available when I went grocery shopping this afternoon. The girls and I enjoyed a cup after dinner.

~Candy Cane Lane~
Tea
"What could be better than the delectable taste of an old-fashioned candy cane-the memorable flavor of cool, luscious peppermint that is such a delight."

~Sugar Plum Spice~
Tea
"Take a sip of Sugar Plum Spice and journey with us to the Land of the Sweets in Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker. Here you'll find gingerbread houses, trees laden with sugar plums and days filled the sunshine. This is the land of the Sugar Plum Fairy, who is beautiful, gentle and kind."

~Gingerbread Spice~
Tea
A wonderful way to thaw a frosty chill is to step into a cozy kitchen warmed by the spicy aroma of fresh-baked gingerbread!

Tea

My favorite is the Gingerbread spice. Do you have a favorite hot drink this time of year?

  5. COFFEE-COFFEE-COFFEE for Danny & I year round. We do drink hot tea in the winter and who could resist Hot Chocolate! Mama use to make a real cup of Hershey's Coco in the winter months every school morning for my brother & I. She would make it right before she left for work & it would be sitting on the table in a yellow cup waiting for us.! Cool huh!

  7. This looks very good. I wish I could buy teas like these in Germany! I love the boxes the're in.

  8. Early mornings the hot beverage of choice is black coffee. Later in the day I select from more black coffee, hot tea, or instant cappuccino coffee (occasionally topped with whipped cream!). I like English Breakfast tea, or flavored with orange & spice or perhaps peach. I'm trying to break my habit of using sugar in my tea or sweetener in my iced tea. It's a hard habit to break but I'm persisting. My least favorite is the popular green tea that so many people favor, I just can't drink that one.

  9. I love Twinnings Earl Grey, Lady Grey, or English Breakfast tea with milk and sugar (or Splenda) for the mornings. For evenings or when I'm sick, Celestial Seasonings Sleepytime tea with a touch of honey. Harney and Sons Hot Cinnamon Sunset is wonderful as well. (I love warm drinks...tea, cocoas, coffee...they are so cozy!)

I do love the peppermint tea. I discovered it last Christmas when I got it as a gift from a student with a lovely mug.

I am fond of the new instant cappaccinos these days. I like the mocha mint on that too.

Coffees during the early hours and tea after 3:00. That is my motto!

Wish I could have a cup with you Kelli. Even your tea pictures look inviting.

  16. My favorite tea of all time is English Breakfast Tea. But I love all the spicy, herby teas from Celestial Seasonings, too. We have iced tea in our fridge all year long, too. Usually a "zinger" or a berry something.
My daughter just gave me 2 Celestial tins that came in the tea boxes. I was so glad to get them.

Ooooooooo... I also LOVE peppermint coffee (Millstone).
And at the coffee shops I go for a "Double Tall Nonfat SugarFree Peppermint White Chocolate Latte". Unfortunately, at $3-4 a drink... I only get to have these MAYBE once a week to everyother week. BOOHOO! I wish that I knew how to make these myself!

And last Janurary, I started to drink coffe. My husband says I have coffe with my cream though.
    ;-)

But I love all the flavor creamers out there.

  24. I'm afraid my favorite hot drink this time of year is good old fashioned hot cocoa. I do like to add a candy cane to it for the season if I have any. :) Reading your blog makes me want to do it all with a doily and a saucer under my cup. :)

  25. I am not much of a tea drinker. Have to be in the exactly right mood and there has to be a sugar bowl nearby. :-P

I love white chocolate cocoa but it's hard to find around here.

My favorite hot drink is definitely coffee. I like it with just sugar and a little cream, but I also just love the doctored up, flavorful stuff. Mmm, mmm.

  26. I really can't do the Nutcracker tea, not sure what's in it. I do like the Candy Cane though. My favorite warm drinks are a nice cup of English Breakfast, coffee, or when I've had enough caffeine for the day: Tension Tamer. It really is my favorite, and my secret prayer partner either knows me well, or was listening to God because she gave me a box 2 Sundays ago.

  27. Oh Kelli! That's adorable! We used to live just a few miles away from their plant in Boulder. My favorite hot drink lately has been the hot-spiced cider, you make it using your coffee maker!

  28. I'll have to keep an eye out for those! Yummy. ;)

  29. Yummy, I can't wait to try those :)

I really liked the Gingerbread but the 2 yr old, 3 yr old and I are all partial to candy cane lane. For them I make a cup, divide it, add some honey and cold water. For me, straight.

  36. Hi Kelli :) My favorite holiday specialty is my mother's spiced tea recipe - it is scrumptious!

It is made with a favorite black tea, grape juice, orange juice, a dash of lemon juice, cloves and cinnamon. Yum and double yum ;)

What a beautiful blog...the teas look awsome. have you always liked them? I want to like them so bad,but something about warm tea makes me feel sick. Maybe it is because as a young girl we were mde to drink alot of mint tea when sick from th healthfood store.
Do you add anything to yours?

  39. Yummy...that Gingerbread tea sounds delicious. I am loving my chai tea (made by Oregon Chai). It is organic, so I don't feel too guilty drinking it! Blessings to you!

  40. Kelli,

It all sounds delicious. I drink hot tea all year round. However, I do like flavored hot teas in the winter and once in a great while I will treat myself to a cup of hot chocolate. I wish they made sugar free hot chocolate, as I'm a diabetic, so I have to exchange many foods in order to enjoy it. I like homemade hot chocolate and like the real cocoa and hot milk, not packaged made with water.

I wonder if these teas are sold in my part of the country. I'm certainly going to check.

    Thanks for sharing.
    Mary

  43. We've all had nasty colds/coughs and tea has been my constant companion. I sent my beloved to the store to find one of these, and our local grocer isn't carrying them. :0(. So today, I'm venturing out to find them! Thanks for the review of them. They sound marvelous.

My favorite is also the Gingerbread Spice. In the summer the Candy Cane Lane (if you have any left) makes a GREAT iced tea!
Don't forget to look for the Sugar Cookie Sleigh Ride flavor. That is wonderful, too!

  45. I love those teas too! So fun for Christmas! I also love the Christmas flavored creamers with eggnog, pumpkin and chocholate mint! Yummy!

  46. Those teas look really good. I love hot apple cider in winter and on a really cold winter night there's nothing like hot rum and blackcurrant. Alcoholic I'm afraid but very warming and tasty especially when sitting in front of a big log fire in an English country pub :)

  47. Stash Holiday Teas are some of my favorites...they come in a 3 pack for Christmas - the dessert tea is particularly scrumptious. I also love Stash's Chai Green Tea or their Decaf Vanilla Chai Tea... and Celestial Seasoning Teahouse Chai's Chocolate Caramel Enchantment is delicious.

  48. You got it! Candy Cane Lane is my #1!!

  51. I bought four boxes of Candy Cane Lane, putting one of them in the big box I put together to send for my daughter's 30th birthday this weekend.

I tried their Sugar Cookie tea for the first time, too. I'll have to buy a box of the Gingerbread. :)

Last year I hoarded my one remaining box of Candy Cane Lane to last through the Summer into early Autumn!

    I like my decaf coffee!
However, those look so wonderful and maybe the kids would like it!

  53. I'm not much of a hot tea drinker, being a Southern iced tea girl, but I do love flavored coffee. I don't have to have the expensive Starbucks ones - we have great flavored coffees at our local QT gas station and Racetrac gas station, if you can believe it. And the bonus is that they're only 99 cents! However, I only drink hot coffee when it is REALLY cold outside - otherwise I just burn up.

  54. I love Candy Cane Lane! I could drink it year 'round!

Mint teas have always been my favorite, and I like the hint of vanilla in this one.

Mmm... I think I shall go make myself a cup!

  55. I love hot chocolate and the occasional hot apple cider. :)

  58. My favorite holiday tea is by Celestial Seasonings - Nutcracker Sweet. I haven't seen it for a couple years. I have bought the ones you showed, too. I bought some by Stash - Christmas Eve herbal tea and Christmas Morning black tea. I also like flavored coffee, hot chocolate, hot apple cider, and cappuccinos!
