A Recipe For Christmas JOY and a *Giveaway!*
***Please scroll down for new posts!!!***
I promised to share with you a special way to welcome in the Christmas season, so here it is!
Marybeth Whalen is a homeschooling mom of six children and has just published her first ebook! It is called A Recipe for Christmas Joy and she was sweet enough to give me a copy to review and another copy for a giveaway!
Marybeth has filled this book with over 50 recipes, menus, devotionals, practical advice, and tips that will inspire you to put the focus of Christmas back on Jesus as you and your family prepare to celebrate this upcoming season!
Here are a few of my favorite things from the ebook:
~A week-by-week checklist for organizing your Christmas
~Celebrating Advent
~Creative gift ideas that won't break the bank
~Homemade gifts
~Hosting a Christmas peppermint tea
~25 ways to make the holidays holy days
~List of Christmas read-alouds for you and your children
and most importantly...
~How to make Jesus the center of your Christmas!
For more details, please visit Marybeth's blog, Cheaper by the Half-dozen.

What a great idea! We NEED to keep Christ in Christmas. Too many folks are so materialistic and only think of things they want and have no thought for the real Reason for the Season.
ReplyDeleteEnter me for her wonderful book and I will be checking her blog, too. Thanks for the info.

ReplyDeleteThanks for the opportunity to participate in your Giveaway!
ReplyDeleteThe book sounds wonderful-include me in the drawing. I hate to say it, but the world has "made" us look at the commercial side of Christmas and forget WHY we are even celebrating it to begin with: the birth of Christ! Without Christ, there would be no Christ-mas!
ReplyDeleteYou were my first contest, and now you can be my second! Try try again, right??

ReplyDeleteOh Kelly, please enter me in the giveaway! My darling 14 year old daughter pointed out to me yesterday that there just isn't enough CHRIST in CHRISTmas.....and started asking questions about why we have to have a tree, why we have to give gifts, etc. She doesn't understand the reason for all of the secularism if we are celebrating the birth of our Saviour.....in all honesty, I didn't have many answers for her. It broke my heart to see her so burdened, and my not being able to answer many of her questions and concerns. Anyhow, I would LOVE to be entered in this drawing (and I'm really praying that I win this one, because even though we've never done a whole lot with the materialism/secular portion of Christmas, we have also not done our best to keep CHRIST as the center of CHRISTmas). Thanks!
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
