Hello! Our internet has been down since yesterday morning, but everything seems to be back to normal now. We have been busy with everyday things: schoolwork, laundry, and gardening.
Yesterday, I received a beautiful notecard from my friend, Farrah at Light in the Sphere.
She also sent me this lovely key. Of course this got me thinking about my favorite book, The Secret Garden and some other special keys I have around my house.
Four keys for a spring display in my kitchen window. I found them at an antique store last fall, but the rest of my keys are from Hobby Lobby's decorating/garden section.
A couple of keys tucked away on my teacup shelf.
Some of you may remember my Secret Garden robin.
It was hard to see the key, so I replaced it with the one that Farrah sent me! Thank you for the lovely letter and gift, Farrah!
I also have some keys outside by our back gate.
And one leading the way into our secret garden.
Everything is growing nicely and I'm hoping for some more Bleeding Heart blooms!
My bloglines are full, so I will be by to visit soon. I hope you all are having a great Thursday!
Oh kelli,
ReplyDeleteThere is certainly something mysterious and special about those old keys, what a thoughtful friend!! Hope you are enjoying some Spring weather in the garden! I need to start some digging very very soon.
Jenn
I enjoyed your this and that and your mothers day idea. Thank you. Enjoy this warm weather.
ReplyDeleteHi Kelli :) Hugs and Happy Thursday! I love the way you've used keys in your decorating - what a neat springtime thing. Love, Q
ReplyDeleteKelli,I really enjoy you photo and posting.Hugs and blessing to you and your family.
ReplyDelete"The Secret Garden" is one of my favorite books. This post makes me want to read it again.
ReplyDeleteOh! Beautiful! I received the same key from Farrah and just loved it! She wrote about "The Secret Garden" and how it reminds her of Spring. I haven't read that in ages, and am now reading it with my girls. They love it! It's such a magical book! Love your photos! Have a beautiful day!!
ReplyDeleteHi Kelli, I love all of your keys. They are so vintage. I used to watch the secret garden alot as a child. Have a great rest of the week :)
ReplyDeleteThe card and key are such thoughtful gifts. Old keys have such character to them.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like the robin is waiting "impatiently" for that egg to hatch. Cute!
Can't wait to see a picture of the bleeding hearts blooming.
I love keys. Especially old keys. Yours are so nice and you've done a great job decorating with them. I have to repair a 'key picture' my mother made for me. When I do I'll share it on my blog.
ReplyDeleteI need a secret garden! I know where to put it but the shed is in the way!

I hope you will post more of your vignettes around your home...you have a true gift for creating unique, awesome displays!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Rhonda :)
I've loved your keys since I first saw them on your blog. If there is a way you could market them, I think all your blog friends would buy them. I'd be the first. They are so special are really a reminder of the book, The Secret Garden. I like all your ideas. Happy Thursday, Kathi
ReplyDeleteI love the keys. I have a few keys around too. I hadn't thought about featuring them on my blog, but now I think I will sometime.
ReplyDeleteKelli,
ReplyDeleteI love keys too. When you hold old keys like that you can almost feel the history in them. Does that make sense?
I can't believe April is almost over. The weather here has been lovely.
Blessings,
Gina
I love keys too, and have several around. But I like your idea about the keys to the secret garden and especially the ones on the gate...I may flatter you by copying that!!

I am thoroughly enjoying visiting your blog. I see we both have the same favourite book as a child, The Secret Garden. There are other similarities as well ... keys, fairy gardens, crafting. I've been visiting your Show & Tell Friday participants and I think I will start to join in as well. Hope you can stop by and visit The Crafty Side or The Gardener Side of me.
