Weekend Chit~Chat
Happy weekend! I just finished a little weeding and I also planted some begonias. It is 93F (feels like 97F) and I really need to be better about gardening in the early morning, since summer has definitely arrived.
This is my first ever Nasturium bloom! I have tried growing them for years and have finally had success.
I promised more pictures of our new Golden Retriever puppy, Daisy. As you can see she's a fan of water!
We are crate training her and after two long nights, she is finally getting the hang of it. She slept all the way until 6:00am this morning. Then I took her outside where she played for two hours.
She loves to go for walks down our street.
But she especially enjoys her afternoon nap. And what puppy wouldn't when a snuggle and warm blanket is involved!
My family will be arriving for a 2 week visit tomorrow, so I'm off to finish up some things on my to-do list. I hope you all have a great weekend!
That is a GORGEOUS flower! I love it.
ReplyDeleteDaisy is just the most precious little thing!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend and a memory-filled time with your family. ;)
Hi Kelli :) Happy Nasturtium! That is a wonderful accomplishment - and they are so good on tea time salads...
ReplyDeleteWe are in love with your precious Daisy! My sweeties would love to cuddle her and play :) Happy wknd to you, too! Love, Q
too cute, too cute! Hope you have a great 2 weeks. Make lots of happy memories! Ill be talking to you soon!Christina
ReplyDeleteDaisy is lovely! I love her big, fluffy paws! She looks like she has fitted right in to all your hearts!
ReplyDeleteI wish we could have a dog but my kids are extremely allergic to furry things.... And to be honest it would be one more thing I have to look after and right now I simply have no more time or inclination to look after anything (or anyone!) else!
Your nasturtiums are great! I forgot about them - bought a load of petunias this year and they all promptly died. I shall have to try nasturtiums net year.
With those temps you will need to get up pretty early to get your garden done.
ReplyDeleteI water and tend to everything at 6a.m. just when to sun comes up. It is so quiet in my house and outdoors at that time.
If I wait I will get busy and have to toil in the hot sun. We had 100 degrees this weekend. Sheesh. It was a scorcher.
AWW,how sweet.
ReplyDeleteI hpoe that you are having a Grear day today. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
Oh she is such a precious pup. Our yellow lab loved water, too. He would even invade the kiddie pool and try to get in the bathtub...LOL Now he is enjoying swims in the lake with his new family. They really get a hold on your heart.......
ReplyDeleteThat is one pretty flower! What is the secret to your success this year?

ReplyDeleteKelli, the nasturtiums are great in salads or as a garnish. I collect them in the morning and put them in a little container in the fridge to use during the day.

Daisy has the best idea to stay cool. I'd love to sit in a little wading pool! She looks like the sweetest puppy.
Have a lovely Sunday!
Two of my favorite things - nasturiums and daisies! I once help to cater a wedding Martha Stewart Style and I put nasturtiums all around the salad. It was stunning. And your adorable puppy is named after my favorite flower! So cute!
ReplyDeletehugs, Linda
I love nasturtiums! Your "baby" is so precious!!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend, Kelli
Now you have nasturtiums, watch out! We have them too but they spread under the fence from next door! Fortunately I don't mind and I have just let them take over where they can.
ReplyDeleteAs for Daisy...she is absolutely adorable!! Can I come over to your house to play? I love my cat but dogs are really my favorite especially Labrador retrievers. I will come back and gaze upon her a little longer. Every photo made me gasp with delight -- and I'm not a gushy person!
aaawwwww so, so sweet! Daisy is beautiful, and puppies need their rest......and in such a pretty blanket too! Hope you have a great time with your family, and daisy will be excited!
