Show and Tell Friday!
Welcome to “Show and Tell Friday!” Do you have something special to share with us? It could be a trinket from grade school, a piece of jewelry, or a treasured collection. Look around your home for something to share; dig through those boxes in your closet if you have to! Share photos and the story that goes with your special item.
I finally finished my embroidery project: a small sachet bag.
The satin stitch wasn't as hard as I thought it would be, but the bullions gave me some trouble.
White lattice.
The bag is lined and I hand stitched the top.
A good friend of mine is getting married in a few weeks and the bag, along with these Crabtree and Evelyn lotions and soaps will be her bridal shower gift.
Thank you for looking at my show and tell!
Please read the Show and Tell Guidelines for step-by-step instructions on how to participate.

Oh, Kelli, it is lovely and so dainty! What a beautiful job you did and your friend will be so thrilled with such a special and personal gift. I love Crabtree and Evelyn - I used to travel every day for my job before I had children and most of the nicer hotels I stayed in had these products - brings back memories! Great show and tell!

You did a wonderful stitching job! The more you do, the more it will be a snap to do! I do mostly cross stitch, but ribbon embroidery looks interesting to me. Love Crabtree and Evelyn-been in a few of their stores and they are yummy!

ReplyDeleteI have no show and tell today...only a new granddaughter...born last night!
I guess that doesn't qualify for your S&T, does it?
Happy weekend, Kelli!
That is such a delicate and beautiful sachet bag. Your embroidery is so pretty. Did you use a hankie to make it or what type of material did you use. Maybe I need to do some more reading in your blog to find out. She is going to be so happy with all the lovely products too.
ReplyDeleteFabulous stitchery Kelli!! You did a wonderful job of work.
ReplyDeleteMy show n tell this week isn't what I had planned to do since the hurricane dolly prevented me from being online much -when I was online it was blogging storm updates mostly, so I opted to show off some trinkets I have in the master bath...photos I had stored on my computer already. I hope to get back to doing my planned show n tell next week.
Have a super weekend.
The bag is beautiful. You do great work. The bride to be is a lucky girl and I'm sure she will love it.

Kelli,
ReplyDeleteI changed my mind and decided to link my post from yesterday in hopes that others will consider posting their house numbers on their blog.
Just for fun.

ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty gift! I'm sure that she'll love it, Kelli!
ReplyDeleteWhat a LOVELY sachet bag!!! You did a great job on the embroidery!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure the bride will treasure this gift. :)
You did a beautiful job on the bag. I wish I could make satin stitches that pretty. Bullions are tricky. I have made thousands of them. And still cannot make them as pretty as Southern Matriarch's. (If you go to my blog, see my blog roll, she is on my blog list. Martha is a SAGA friend of mine (Smocking Arts Guild of America) and she has a few bullion tutorials on her blog.) But they take practice and everytime you use a different type of thread, you have to practice again... ;-) But my favorite stitch. What you can do with a bullion!
ReplyDeleteYour friend will be thrilled with the gift. It is just exquisite!h
I just got into crochceting so I don't think I'm ready for embroidery yet, but you certainly did a beautiful job. I hope to try it some day. She's a lucky bride to get a handmade gift!

Hi Kelli. Another comment. My goodness, how do you find time to read them all?
ReplyDeleteGinger of Enchanting Cottage and I have started a new blog called Spiritual Sundays. It will be a place something like your S & T but it will be for Sundays. When you get the time I hope you will stop back by my blog to find out more about it. I'm still trying to figure out how to post the code to the sidebar picture for others to use. Everytime I try it, the picture pops up again. I know there is a way. Maybe you can help us with this. (Since you don't have anything else to do. Ha.)
Its absolutely lovely, Kelli...so pretty and delicate. Crabtree and Evelyn products are wonderful.
