Decorating with Doilies ~ Show & Tell Friday!
Welcome to “Show and Tell Friday!” Do you have something special to share with us? It could be a trinket from grade school, a piece of jewelry, or a treasured collection. Look around your home for something to share; dig through those boxes in your closet if you have to! Share photos and the story that goes with your special item.
A few weeks ago I stopped by the thrift store and found a pile of doilies and lacy linens, right by the front door.
Layers and layers of lace!
They were $2.00 each and have beautiful detail work.
A cutwork collar. Only half has been finished.
I had fun finding places for my new finds...
I tea stained these doilies.
Thank you for looking at my show and tell and I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

ReplyDeleteOh Kelli,
ReplyDeleteYou have such a great collection. And what great buys you always make. It's funny because I was planning on sharing the same think. Vintage doiles and embroidery and quilt blocks.
I hope you have a great Show and Tell.
Blessings,
Sherry
I love doiles. My mom bought me some beautiful ones for my Ladies Church Tea I hosted and I treasure them. I love what you did.
ReplyDeleteI love the dollies, Kelli they are so lovely to look at what a wonderful show and tell to share with your guests, I would have to say my favoriate place for your dollies was the one with the candle on top of it, it was so lovely. Have a great and blessed weekend
ReplyDeleteOoooh, how pretty! I have a real weakness for linens and lace! I enjoyed seeing where you are using them!
ReplyDeleteKatherine
I love doilies and have several scattered around over the house. I learned to crochet doilies when I was a little girl. Enjoyed seeing yours.
ReplyDeleteCharlotte
Hi Kelli,
ReplyDeleteThat is a great find! There are so many ways to use then in decorating!
Thanks for sharing and for hosting Show and Tell Friday!
You really are so lucky, to find them for $2.00 each. What a wonderful find. I love the one you put on the toliet, Thats one way to fancy it up. Now if you need to get rid of a few, I sure we all would love to take a few off your hands. lol! They are beautiful. Its hard to resist them and napkins and table cloths!
ReplyDeleteKelli,
ReplyDeleteLoved your doilies and I have tea stained them before. I was to the thrift shop today and didn't find a thing worth buying. However, as I was walking back to my car, I saw a that a new thrift and furniture store had opened a couple of doors down. I found a mirror for the upstairs bathroom for $4.00. I was dreading paying ten times that much for a mirror for tenants. This one is perfect.
Enjoyed all your pretty decor items. Have a wonderful weekend.
Blessings,
Mary
You have a wonderful collection of doilies. I like how you used them. Ever think of framing some?
ReplyDeleteMy late friend's mom made a small, circular tablecloth (actually another friend bought it for me from eBay) that I would like to frame instead of use as I don't have a round table and I don't want the cat to snag it.
I love lace and doilies and all those vintage goodies that we seem to have forgotten. Such a beautiful vision for these weary eyes tonight.
ReplyDeleteI love Rub and Buff!!! I'm talking it up today!!!
ReplyDeleteYou made a great buy!
ReplyDeleteI also enjoy using doilies in various rooms of the home.
Kelli,

Hi Kelli :) Just popping in to say an early "Happy Friday!" I hope that you have a lovely day.

ReplyDeleteI think Brussels (where I live) would be a paradise for you if you love laces ! Belgian laces are very beautiful and famous.
ReplyDeleteOh wow, Kelli! They look so wonderfull! Why do I not find such pretty things just around the courner here?
ReplyDeleteI hope to find some time this coming week-end to catch up with all your recent posts! I was glad to learn from your mail the other day that you bought some pansies! We've been to Berlin last week-end and stopped at my favourite (famous) nursery close to our German capital. And when we drove back, our car was full of new perennials for my rose border! I can't wait to see them all in bloom next year!
Have a wonderful Friday!
XoX, Anita
