Thanksgiving Poem

Autumn

The year has turned its circle,
The seasons come and go.

The harvest all is gathered in

And chilly north winds blow.

Orchards have shared their treasures,

The fields, their yellow grain,

So open wide the doorway-

Thanksgiving comes again!

I love this poem! I'm teaching poetry at a co-op to high schoolers and my kids and I are working through IEW's Poetry program- poetry is my new found joy.

What a great poem. Turkey time will soon be here. Hubby says from now on, we need to do Thanksgiving more often. I agree!
