New Thrift Store Finds
Thank you for stopping by for a visit and your comments on our recent celebrations. Today, I am sharing some recent thrift store and estate sale finds. I got this silver cake server and small spoon for $3.00.
I still need to clean it, but the detail work is beautiful.
I am especially happy with this next find: 40 Martha Stewart Magazines, many of them dating back to 1995/1996.
I love looking through the back issues each month. I got each one for 59 cents.
I am officially out of room on my bookshelf now!
And lastly, some of you will remember these tea cups that I found last year.
They didn't have saucers, so I've slowly been collecting ones to match the soft green, blue and pink.
Most of them are around $1.00 each.
Only two more to go and my set will be complete.
Thank you for taking a look at my new treasures!
You have some great finds there, Kelli! The Martha Stewart magazines a jewels of knowledge and great pictures. What fun you will have reading those:)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the saucer finds also!
Have a good week:)

You got some gorgeous finds there, Kelli! Love the cake server!! So beautiful!
ReplyDeletePS- I started collecting my Marthas back when I when getting married. I have quite a collection as well!
ReplyDeleteGreat finds you got. I am not sure if you are even interested, but if you like Martha Stewart Mags, I just saw in tonights paper a complete set of Martha, dating back to 95 for fifty dollars. Thats a lot of mags and the complete set. you could have them sent to you by media mail and thats not very expensive at all. After reading your post I just thought you might like to know if you really want to collect those. I stopped collecting after 2 years. She and I don't like the same recipes, but I love her crafts.
ReplyDeleteI think your thrifting finds are wonderful! I love to look at older magazines, too. And I love the saucers.

The saucers are really beautiful and they match the cups perfectly! Good find Kelli!
ReplyDeleteI like your cake server and cup collection. I have a bad habit of keeping magazines. But the ones we have are Discover and National Geographic. Cleaning out my sons room I came across a hoard of Discover, they're taking over house and home.
ReplyDeleteI love those tea cups with the mis-matched saucers - such an eclectic look!
ReplyDeleteAh, teacups, I like it so much and yours are so nice.
ReplyDeleteAlfazema

I love the thrift stores! I also love seeing what other people find, because then it gives me new ideas! I love your idea about the teacups. I worked at a small dessert and coffee eatery and we served all our desserts on these wonderfully mismatched saucers...so now I've started collecting them. Usually I'm a stickler for things matching, so something like this is very special! Take care.

ReplyDeleteManuela
Everything is gorgeous. I too love looking through old magazines.
ReplyDeleteTeresa
The tea cups and saucers are perfect. Like Tina Leigh, I would have left them behind because of the missing saucers. The assortment of saucers is just the right touch. Beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteLove the cake server too!
I just love thrift store finds and yard sale finds...looking forward to yard saleing this spring/summer.

ReplyDeleteThe tea cups look adorable :)
Kelli, I love the saucers. Thanks for inspiring me to do things beautifully! And thanks for the comment on my blog. I'm loving this little sisterhood of kindred spirits. Blessings today!
ReplyDeleteOoooo! Another cup and saucer fiend! Do you mind if the tops don't necessarily match the bottoms? I don't. I've picked up odd ones for no more reason other than their too pretty to pass up simply for not having a mate.

ReplyDeleteI LOVE your new finds! Especially the teacups. Great treasures.
ReplyDeleteWow.I wish I would have been with you but we might have gotten into a fight over those magazines! LOL. I love the teacups you'll have to be thinking about your next quest once you get those last two. The set is coming together beautifully. Isn't it just so much fun! I hope to see you Friday.
ReplyDeleteHave a great Wednesday. How's Daisy? I have two other dogs in my house this week. 2 male German Shepherds. One old one and one that is about 12 weeks maybe! Wow. We are not puppy proof! Having a fun week.

A great thrift find is the best, isn't it?
Blessings,

Such great finds. The silver cake server is just gorgeous, and wow lots of good reading in all those magazines. How neat to find such wonderful saucers to go with all the cups. I love all the flowers and details on them. Great shopping. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteHi Kelli! I love all your new goodies. I am like Tina Leigh...I would never have bought the tea cups without the saucers but your wonderful creativity knew they could be beautiful mixed with other patterns. I have never been a "Martha" fan but now I am curious. I think I will pick up her magazine when I go grocery shopping this week.
ReplyDeleteI hope you and the kids have a great day. Love, Debbi
P.S. I see my comment was sent more than once. I am sorry. I don't know how that happened. Guess I was overly excited about all of your pretties. :-)
ReplyDeleteDebbi
I love your cups. Whenever I see really great posts like yours I either want to go shopping or go clean out a closet and re-arrange it. I have no idea why a photo of beautiful teacups makes me feel this way.
ReplyDeleteHave a Wonderful Wednesday!

Looks like you got some great finds. I love the cake server.
ReplyDeleteIt would be fun to check out all of those old Martha Stew*art magazines for ideas.
Great finds. I love the cake server. I found a real nice one at a thrift store a couple months ago.
ReplyDeleteI have the exact silver pie server myself. I love it. I adore the cuts and saucers you found. Just beautiful.
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful the cake server is. That a great collection of Martha Stewart Mag. I love all your tea cups and saucers. I think the saucer with the tiny rose bud, is just like one I have. Love your Treasures!
ReplyDeleteI just love all the teacups with the different saucers, that's adorable!
ReplyDeleteI went thrifting yesterday and there was nothing left at our thrift store...not even books. Usually I get a bunch of paperback mysteries. I go through books so quickly. And there were no cute plates or bowls. I was shocked at how empty our store was!
ReplyDeleteAren't you clever to match up your pretty pastel cups with a bouquet of different saucers! Just lovely.
ReplyDeleteHave a blessed day, Lori
Oh your teacups are darling and the saucers are great!
ReplyDeleteI just love going to the Thrift Store. I started to get an itch for it this morning after looking at your pictures.
Wendy

Kelli~
ReplyDeleteI love that you are collecting saucers to go along with the cups. Searching for ones to go with (but not an exact match)makes them all the more interesting. And it is so fun ~ the thrill of the hunt!

ReplyDeleteAll of those Marthas, how awesome, Kel! I'm bowing down to you. :0)
ReplyDeleteI'm drooling over those Martha mags! I have issues dating back to 1997, but I'm still on the lookout for earlier ones. I just spent $9.02 today on Ebay (that includes shipping) for 3 issues from 1995. I'm consoling myself on the cost by reminding myself that they're all the good holiday issues...
ReplyDeleteGreat finds!
Those are just beautiful! I love Martha Stewart magazines too.
ReplyDeleteYou've found wonderful items...I love how you have found saucers for your pretty cups! What delightful conversation pieces.

~Adrienne~
I collect silver serving pieces but haven't found any affordable ones lately. I just love the patterns on them and use them all the time - soup ladles, big serving forks, big serving spoons, etc. Cake servers work well for other things than just serving cake, and I love them the best.
ReplyDeleteLovely! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful and I would love to find the magazines...very thrifty....
ReplyDeleteBlessings
