Good morning! Thank you for your wonderful comments about my new mini bistro table and fairy garden. I had a few questions about where I got the fairy items, so I will try to answer them all.
My mom found the plastic patio floor and table set at a yardsale last year, *but* you can get very similar ones in the dollhouse section at Hobby Lobby. This is also where I got all the gardening tools and mini pots.
The "pond" is a small mirror, also found at Hobby Lobby or Michaels.
Here is what the fairy garden looked like last year. I didn't have the the patio, so I made one with small tiles found in the mosaic supply section of Michaels.
And lastly, another type of fairy garden that I've had. The door is from the dollhouse section, which I painted and set up against a small rock. The stepping stones were also found in the mosaic supply section.
If you don't have a Hobby Lobby or Michaels near you, just search for "garden dollhouse" at Ebay and you will find lots of cute things. I shouldn't have just looked! ;0) Let me know if I missed any questions and have a wonderful weekend!

We love your fairy garden and have been inspired to start one. We found the spot we started it has mayapple growing in it and will take it over soon so we are going to move it. I love the patio idea. I have been looking for a door and did not want to pay so much for a mail order one. I love your idea of picking up an unfinished one or a piece of wood and painting it. Thanks for all the tips!

I spent a summer working in a garden center and her specialty was fairy gardens. Some of the things we did was go to the staine dglass store and buy some glass in a blue color for the water, we also did one with a large Japanese Maple in a pot and decorated a garde around the tree and put a dollhouse door against the trunk. It was a favorite. They are pretty easy as long as you remember scale. Yours looks great!!

ReplyDeleteI have an off-the-subject question. Since you are such a good homemaker, I wanted to post it here (I posted on one other site as well).
Is there anyone out there who wishes that they could be a full-time homemaker but can’t?
I ache to be able to stay home but can’t. Until my youngest was eight, I had that blessing. From then on, it was out into the working world. I seriously can’t stand it, and those are not-kidding words. That child is now 19; the others are older. Still, I want to be a homemaker; that’s the way it should be in my mind. I get such fulfillment out of that calling that I am unable to do-that of homemaker.
I have searched for YEARS to be able to make money from home, to find a way to become independently financially secure to no avail, and I mean years! I know of those who are quite successful in this way. It seems, however, as though the Lord obviously will not bless me in this area; I don’t know why.
Does anyone else face this predicament? If you do, how do you deal with it? And, how do you get up every day without great depression? Note: When I am at work, no one knows or senses my depression or unhappiness. I am very upbeat and also a good worker.
I certainly do not see this situation as ending--maybe not even until I am too old to work. My husband wants my income; my husband “needs” my income. I also am in great debt.
Any thoughts and prayers are very welcomed.
