Breakfast
Good morning! I hope you had a good weekend. Ours was busy and I feel like I'm in the middle of a construction zone!

Tree
Out front, our tree is almost gone. Tomorrow there will be new grass.

In the back, they are finishing up our new fence.

Benjamin
And inside, the girls and Benjamin have been busy preparing for Cub Scout/Faith Keeper Day camp. They made some craft foam shapes to trade with friends and pin onto their hats.

Crafting
Their group's theme is Alaska, so we went with snow, ice cubes and snowflakes. Between all of this and a graduation party on Saturday, there wasn't any extra time to go look for a new tree.

This week, I will have the house to myself for at least 6 hours a day, so I will have plenty of time to plan Emily's upcoming birthday party and to catch up with you here in blogland. Have a great start to your week!

  1. Kelli,

Your new fence is beautiful! It is sad to see your tree go but sometimes it is a necessity.

You are cordially invited to this month’s Country Heart Giveaway. I hope to see you there.

    Blessings,
    Gina

HI Kelli! I know it is a mess when things are being fixed up around the house but it is so worth it. Your new fence is beautiful. Enjoy your alone time this week. Every young mom deserves quiet time every now and then.

Thanks for sharing your pics. Love, Debbi

  5. Hi Kelli, your new fence is looking great! We lost two huge trees in our front yard and like you I was thankful they didn't touch the house...when you get your new tree you'll feel better, I know I did.
This week sounds busy too...it will be so different with the children gone during the day...do you have any projects lined up? Hugs, Linda

I am so sorry to hear about your tree! I am sure your kids will treasure the memory of getting a new tree & watching it grow. I remember my grandmother had a sapling in her front yard & she had to put a laundry basket over it to protect it during storms. The tree is now 30 + years old & is about 15 + feet tall! I just love the last page of the papers your purchased @ the scrapbook convention, could you tell me the manufacuter? It is the green w/little pink & yellow roses.
Thanks so much & I look forward to reading your blog!!!

  8. Between the new fence and removing the tree, you certainly are having a curb appeal makeover. It looks very nice.

  9. Oh what a great weekend. Looks like everyone was busy. Wow 6 hours. I suggest at least taking the time for a bubble bath. Caution... I know it sounds like a great idea but don't spend 6 hours you will be a prune when they come home!
    Have a great week.
    Blessings,
    Sherry

  10. Your fence looks wonderful! All these projects turn our worlds upside down but are so worth it. Have a great week with your 6 hours (a luxury here).

  11. WOW! That is one TALL fence! We are limited to 6 feet here in So Cal.
I loved my alone time. I got so much more done! I was always the Mom singing along to the Staples commercial with the Dad singing "It's the most wonderful time of year!" HA! Don't know why though, i was so involved with my kids at school, I practically lived there. PTA can really do that to you.
    Have a good one!

  16. I love that the theme is Alaska. My husband and I just moved to one of the most Northern and Remote communities in Alaska. Any questions I can help with? Hope your children have lots of fun! God Bless.

  18. I know it's hard when there is all that work going on in or around the house. It will be nice when it's all done and things calm down.

Your new fence is wonderful! It is extra tall- how great for privacy. I hope you will share it when it is all finished-including your new tree :)

I understand that 'by yourself' time- wow that is exciting- and rare - enjoy :)
    Blessings!

  21. Lovely new fence - very tall! I hope you find just the right tree for your yard soon - I know how 'bare' and exposed we felt after loosing 5 trees to Dutch Elm - it was such a waste.

  24. Hi Kelli! I love the look of your new fence. We're trying to decide what kind we want and are thinking of a shorter version of that one. I like privacy, but I also like to talk to my neighbors over the back fence. :)
We got an estimate on some tree work - not cutting it all the way down, just removing a lot of stuff that is over the houses. $950! I hope yours was more reasonable, but ours is a VERY BIG tree!
