Hello! Today was the first day of school and we have been hard at work for the past few weeks on a school room project. This room has had a few different looks over the years...
We moved the piano into the family room which gave us enough room for this wall unit and desk. All of the new furniture is from IKEA.
Phillip put everything together and the kids and I organized all the old and new books.
For those interested, I will list our curriculum for this coming year. Up until now, we have used Sonlight, but are adding some new things, including outside classes specifically for homeschoolers. We are also meeting with a possible grammar tutor (for the girls) tomorrow evening for some extra help.

Thank you for stopping by for a visit and taking a look at our new school room!
I searched for "There is no place like home," and boom - I found my way here!!!
ReplyDeleteIt reminds me of my own home where I did a lot of rearranging. In fact, hubby and I just finished the living room.
I love Ikea! Their stuff are great coordinates that look clean and well-organized.
You did great! :)
That looks very attractive! I love the way you have the boxes spaced in a pattern on the shelves. I wish we had an IKEA here!
ReplyDeleteIt looks so lovely, but mostly I am just happy to see a new post from you!

Wow, Kelli It looks great! We have the same wall unit and I ADORE it. So very sturdy especially with the books in it. Nice to see a new post. Hope this 100 degree weather is not killing you guys. It is about killing me...lol
ReplyDeleteI love how you organized your school room! Sadly, we don't have an IKEA here. :-(
ReplyDeleteHi Kelli!
ReplyDeleteIt is so good to see a post from you! Your school room is so nicely organized. I have never been to IKEA, but everyone seems to rave about it. I hope you and your children have a wongerful first week of school. Take care.
God Bless,

Loved seeing your new class room. I am sure things change as the kids get older. They are not into the cute classroom posters etc....which I must admit I still love. As a matter of fact, I love to put up things in the grandkids corner. Waiting to hang cling fall leaves to the window!!!!
ReplyDeleteAll neat and tidy!

I love your school room. Carson just does her work at the kitchen table. It would be so nice to have an area like that. She will be in 7th grade too. We have used some of the same curriculum that you are using. Good luck with the coming year! Carla
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful and productive school year ahead.
ReplyDeleteVery inviting, it makes me want to sit down and do write an essay. :)

ReplyDeleteLooks great. I hope to see our room change over the next few years as well. We don't need much space right now for kindergarten though. Enjoy the beginning of your school year.

Your homeschool room is perfect and orderly, Kelli. I know I have asked this before, but would you please mind telling me again what type and make your camera is? Your pictures are clear and stunning. Thank you. Kathi

Hello~I was wondering if you could share what they use in your daughters English I class? I am trying to put together an English class for my children, and finding it alittle overwhelming to do-trying to cover everything. Any helpful info would be appreciated. Thanks~Danene
