My sister-in-law and I enjoyed a morning out visiting a couple of estate sales, eating lunch at La Madeleine, and running errands. I found several doilies...
Hand embroidered towels...
And a big stack of baby and first birthday cards from 1949-1950. There are even a few anniversary cards. The parents were celebrating 8 years together when their 2nd daughter was born. We share the same middle name which I thought was neat. I did a little research on google and they had 63 happy years together.
Thanks for stopping by!
What beautiful finds, Kelli! I especially like the embroidered towels. They look just like spring, don't they? Someone put a lot of work into those.
ReplyDeleteI always wonder how people can bear to part with hand embroidered towels. Those are so pretty and look as if they were never even used. A lesson for all of us in using the pretty things we have in our homes...do not wait for special occassions!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a charming and profitable morning out with your SIL. I don't think I could have resisted any of your treasures, either. I love doilies and the hand towels are so bright and cheery. I wouldn't want to wipe my hands on them, they are too cute and so much work into them.
ReplyDeleteYou really scored on all your goodies ~ the cards are so precious, too!
Enjoy!
the hand embroidered towels and the vintage cards....bellissimo!
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful! I am so glad that they ended up with you, Kelli, as you will truly appreciate all of them. What lovely finds. Thank you for sharing them with us.

What pretty things you found, especially the cards. I seem to have a "thing" for vintage cards and can't pass them up at estate sales.

Hi Kelli, how many estate sales does it take for a score? I know its all about luck, but I am disheartened because all I ever find is: old tupperware
ReplyDeleteplain WalMart linens
cheap falling apart picture frames, etc. Without a little joy in the hunt-ever-I have pretty much quit going to them.
