Good morning! Recently, a new cupcake shop opened near our house and yesterday we stopped by. Each day they have different flavors, which I thought was a neat idea. We got Chocolate Chip Cheesecake, Coconut Cream Pie, Hunka Chunka Banana Love, Key Lime, Raspberry Buckle, Scarlett's Red Velvet, And Wedding Cake.
I'm really picky when it comes to baked goods, so I was pleasantly surprised. I cut them all into quarters, so everyone could try a variety.
Now we are waiting for Friday...Chocolate Salted Caramel!
I also found these discount roses and the grocery store.
I'll enjoy them in the kitchen for a few days and then hang them upside down to dry for a little display in my craft room.
Gigi's recently opened a store near us as well Kelli. I try to wait until I have a coupon before stopping by there! And lately they are doing special prices in the late afternoon to get rid of the inventory. These cupcakes are ok but if you are ever in Memphis Tn, go to Muddys Bakery. O my goodness...best cupcakes ever. Much moister and not as much overwhelming icing on the cupcakes. They have a cupcake called Prozac(chocolate chocolate) that is my absolute favorite. So far my favorite Gigi's cupcake is Texas Milk Chocolate. Have fun trying out all the flavors!!
ReplyDeleteWhat more could a girl ask for--cupcakes & roses. Sounds wonderful to me! They both look so good! I'd be at the cupcake shop every day! lol

ReplyDeleteYummy looking cakes and the roses are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteYour post just reminded me that I have a coupon for 6 free cupcakes at a little shop near where I work! I'm going to head over there at lunch and get them!

Yummy, Kelli! That's what we do with the treats we find in South Korea. We quarter them up for each person to try a bite and then it's not too bad to try a lot. :) Wedding Cake sounds good!
ReplyDeleteThose cupcakes look SO good.
ReplyDeleteI must share that I have 'lurked' your blog
and so enjoy your photos and sharing, but also
your great recipes. Our family have enjoyed
several of them.
Thank you!
Those cupcakes are the best! You hang the roses upside down to dry? Or just an additional decoration in the craft room til they are completely dried? I'm asking because I've been looking for ways to KEEP old roses. I know I can make potpourri but I don't know how and don't really like potporri. If you have any suggestions (crafts or decor) please let me know. I don't think I've commented before but I LOVE your cozy site.
ReplyDeleteHi Rose,
ReplyDeleteI hang them upside down to dry, so they will be straight on the stems. Otherwise, they droop down...which is a nice romantic look. It just depends what you are using them for.
www.pinterest.com has some pretty pictures of dried rose displays. Just search "dried roses" , etc.
I hope this helps!

Hi Kelli,
ReplyDeleteI was just looking at one of my old posts from 2008. It was a Show & Tell post with the link back to your blog. Brought back memories of when I first started blogging and how I enjoyed Show & Tell.
Those cupcakes look so yummy and the roses are gorgeous.
Blessings,
Charlotte
thanks Kelli for your response
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! =O)
ReplyDeleteThe cupcakes and roses are both beautiful! And I imagine the cupcakes were yummy, as well! Did your family agree on a favorite flavor, or did you all have different favorites?
