Sunbonnet Sue is ironing today. :0)
Here is an assortment of childhood jewelry that I don't wear, but keep tucked away in a special drawer. The necklace has a tiny gold heart on the end of it. My Great Grandma gave it to me. I remember visiting her in her nursing home when I was very young. The pin was given to me by my Aunt. I love the tiny pearl at the top. The ring isn't real gold or diamonds. It is the kind of ring that turns your finger green! :0) When I was 12 and 13, I had a best friend named Jennifer. We used to listen to the radio and make chocolate cupcakes together. Right before my family moved to California, she gave this ring to me.
When I was little, I hated going to the dentist. Come to think of it, I still do!! On this particular trip, I was 10 and had to get 4 or 5 teeth pulled. I had such a small mouth, they needed to make more room. On the way home, my Dad handed me a tiny box and inside were these Avon clip-on earrings from him and my Mom. They hurt my ears so bad but I still wore them for many years!
I have no idea where I got this ballerina necklace charm but I have always loved how her legs and arms move back and forth. She also has the sweetest smile.
Finally, a pearl earring that I wore on my wedding day. Unfortunately, I lost the other one many years ago. My Dad and Mom had given me a fresh water pearl necklace for my highschool graduation so these earrings matched perfectly.
Thanks for letting me share about my favorite gold pieces. :0)

ReplyDeleteHi, Kelli-
ReplyDeleteYour blog has become one of my daily reads. I enjoy it so much. I thought I would read through your archives and liked your favorite color things. I had to smile when I saw the ballerina charm that moves. I have this same charm! My parents gave it to me when I was a child. It was on a necklace. (I think it came from Avon.)
