This photo was not staged! Yesterday, Grace wasn't feeling well so I suggested she take a nap in my bed. About 20 minutes later, I walked into my bedroom and found her propped up, reading the Gurney's Seed Catalog. Sigh. A girl after my own heart!
I got to sleep in a little this morning. Phillip took the girls and Benjamin to Home Depot for their monthly woodworking class. They each made a box for holding plastic grocery bags but they have been turned into homes for stuffed animal friends and a food chopper. Benjamin has sucessfully chopped up pretzils and peanuts so far. :0)
Did you know that January is National Hot Tea Month? My mom called this morning to tell me. I just had a cup of delicious Snickerdoodle Coffee but I will have to have a cup of my current favorite, Bigelow's Vanilla Caramel soon! Do you have a favorite tea? (or coffee!) Have a great weekend!
OH, Kelli--I love tea and coffee!!
ReplyDeleteBeing Pregnant though, I get confused as to which tea is okay and which is not---I heard that green tea is not good to drink while pg, so I gave it away, and now I hear it is okay--hmmm---right now, I just drink decaf coffee to warm me up, with the hazelnut creamer:)
Have a great weekend Kelli--my husband is at the beach with the kids--I stayed behind--I don't like going to the beach on weekends, it is too busy for me. (Plus I think it is too chilly)
What a cute picture!! Gotta love that Gurney's catalogue!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite tea, at least this week!, is Stash's Chai Spice.
Well, my favorite coffee is pumpkin spice latte at Starbucks, which is seasonal and expensive (so I dont' get it very much).
ReplyDeleteI love the Celestial Seasonings' Candy Cane Lane and I was thrilled to find three boxes of it yesterday. Unfortunately, it was my grocery store where the teas are more expensive rather than Wal Mart or Target. I still bought it. :)
I wanted to buy Republic of Tea's Decaf Ginger Peach but they were out of it at the only store in town that sells the decaf version. They had not received their post Christmas shipment and they were out of a lot. I want to send it to my daughter. Since she is expecting her 4th, she must have the decaf. I'll look for it in a couple of weeks and surprise her with it then.
Grace will for sure become a great gardener! ;-))
ReplyDeleteThat catalogue looks interesting, it's quite big.... What a pity that your US seed companies do not send their catalogues overseas. Oh, I guess I would not order from them (or would I?) but it just would be great to get an idea of how your catalogues look like.
By the way, what seeds will you order?
Snickerdoodle tea?
ReplyDeletePlease give details!!
My favorite teas are peppermint...so soothing, and Earl Grey which I take with a spot of milk...and hopefully a cookie or scone!
ReplyDeleteHave a good cozy January!
Grace looks so sweet, hope she feels better soon! That is cute...like Mother like Daughter! :)
ReplyDeleteWho knew...National Hot Tea Month! Woohoo! :)
My all time favorite tea was one my daughter and I had at a tea room. It was creme brulee. So yummy!
ReplyDelete:)
what a cute picture !
ReplyDeleteI love Bigelows cherry and Twinings Lady Gray.
Coffee.... lets see.. I like pumpkin spice and peppermint, oh and hazelnut.
Julieann, I was never sure about safe teas during pregnancy either. I did drink Raspberry Leaf towards the end though. You can't go wrong with the hazelnut creamer! :0)
ReplyDeleteClarice, where do you get the rosemary/lavendar tea?? It sounds wonderful!
I tend to change my favorite teas weekly too, Copperswife!
Brenda, I love Celestial Seasoning's Holiday Teas and we looked everywhere for them this year! We finally found them *after* Christmas. Grace picked out the Sugar Plum Fairy kind. :0)
Hi Anita! I have a really bad green thumb when it comes to seeds. Our house doesn't have great sun exposure for growing them. I've looked into special lighting and trays but then I go to the nursery and see all those baby plants already started and get weak. ;0) Grace wants to plant some corn this summer!
Sheila, my mom and sister got me the Snickerdoodle coffee for Christmas and I think they got it at their regular grocery store. There was just a hint of the snickerdoodle so it didn't overpower the coffee at all!
Hi Lila, I love Earl Grey too! It is good for waking you up in the morning! Have you tried Lady Grey? It has a nice hint of lemon.
Pamela, she has a nasty cough but will take naps when she's sick (unlike Emily and Benjamin!) so that will help.
Susie, I have never tried creme brulee tea but I already know I would love it! I may need to visit a tearoom soon. :0)
Thanks, Patty! Lady Grey is another of my favorites too!
Cute pic. We sued to take the kids to Home Depot but its been while now. They always loved those classes.
ReplyDeleteYes, we do know that January is Hot Tea Month! Take a look at the message from Cindi Bigelow (co President) and how Bigelow Tea, the company, celebrates the month!
ReplyDeleteMy personal favorite (right now) it Pumpkin Spice.
We would love to hear more tea stories, favorites and/or recipes from you and your friends. Send your thoughts to yourstory@bigelowteablog.com and check out out blog, www.bigelowteablog.com for more tea news!

I drink green tea but only cause its good for your health. The taste isnt good at all. (Well, those ones I've tried) Haa who knows how good garneder your daughter will be some day...I have started to read my seed catalogies too. The grass is still green here.
ReplyDeleteDear Kelli,
ReplyDeleteI linked to you on my new posting for National Hot Tea Month. I've got a bunch of fun ideas to write on.
I noticed your morning glory picture the other day. Let me know if you'd like some morning glory seeds. Since I didn't take down my vines right away this rest I was able to collect oodles of seeds. (NOTE: MG seeds are somewhat toxic especially for pregnant ladies. I'd keep them away from the kiddos as well. I wear gloves when collecting the seeds and planting them. Their some how related to PCP.) But I'll still mail them to you, if you'd like!
I have been drinking Organic Pregnancy tea, for the wonderful benefits for my baby. Raspberry leaf tea really helped me at the end of my last pregnancy. I have been enjoying Twinings' Lemon and Ginger Herb Tea, which my hubby got for me to help with my morning sickness. Tea really is a delight and our family enjoys drinking at least one cupful together in the evening. Blessings to you, Kelli!
ReplyDeleteMrs. Darling, Benjamin has been going with Phillip for about 6 months now and this was Grace and Emily's first time going. They loved it!
ReplyDeleteHi Valorie! I didn't realize Bigelow Tea had a blog, how fun! Seeing the picture of Constant Comment reminded me of another one of my favorite flavors.
:0) Thanks for stopping by!
Maria, I have *never* tried green tea!! I think Celestial Seasonings has a raspberry green tea. That might be yummy.
Kimberly, I was actually thinking about Morning Glories this afternoon! I would love some of your seeds, thank you!!! Also, thank you for the warning, I didn't realize they were toxic!
Hi Christine! Mmmm...Lemon and Ginger tea sounds wonderful!
haha...I just got my catalogue and have been drooling over it, too! Only catch is we have a small yard and there isn't room for both the dog and kids to play AND a garden.....*boo-hoo*! I definitely will have an herb garden at the very least, though, that can be easier to work around.
ReplyDeleteJenn
Maxwell House... Decaf... cream and a lil sweetening. How boring am I? *Chuckle*
ReplyDeleteJenn, herbs are perfect for little spaces! I try to plant a few new ones each spring.
ReplyDeleteMama Heffalump, there is nothing boring about coffee! :0)
