"Show and Tell Friday"
Welcome to Show and Tell Friday!" Do you have a something special to share with us? It could be a trinket from grade school, a piece of jewelry, an antique find. Your show and tell can be old or new. Use your imagination and dig through those old boxes in your closet if you have to! Feel free to share pictures and if there's a story behind your special something, that's even better!
My show and tell this week is my new rocking chair. I have been looking for one for several years but I didn't want to spend a lot of money and I didn't want it to be too large. This one is nice and small and it was $30.00 at the resale store!
I haven't decided if I'm going to keep it by the bookshelf in the living room or...
...in front of the fireplace.
Either way it has been getting lots of use.
Fern seems to think I brought it home for her. :0)
Thank you for looking at my new rocking chair!
If you would like to join in for Show and Tell, here are the guidelines:
***Post your "Show and Tell" on your blog, copy the post link, come over here and add it to Mr. Linky. Please do not use Mr. Linky unless you have a Show and Tell or the link will be deleted.
***Link back here so that others can share and read through all the links. If you don't know how to do this, email me and I will send you the link code.
***Please do not host your own "Show and Tell Friday" at your blog. I'd appreciate it if you keep There's No Place Like Home as the only home of Show and Tell Friday.
Hey, I just admired your rocking chair a quater of an hour ago on you flickr online album (where I had a closer look at your 4th of July decoration photos).
ReplyDeleteI like it a lot and it seems to perfectly fit into your living room!
And what a great price you paid for it, a real bargain!
Happy rocking! ;-))))
Have a wonderful Friday, Kelli!
Best wishes from Germany,
Anita
Your duahgter looks so sweet in it! We have a small rocker just like this in our nursery, i will have to share it some time! Thanks for hosting another Show n tell! Have a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeleteOh how lovely. Don't you just love finding a great deal.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing and have a blessed weekend.

It's really nice and looks great either place. And what a great price! Looks like everyone's making themselves at home in it. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous price you paid for that lovely rocking chair. It looks as though your daughter and your cat are going to be fighting over that chair for years to come. To cute!
ReplyDeleteI adore your forth of July bunting that you made. I think I'll make something similar for my daughters 21rst birthday. Adorable! What other terrific ideas do you have? hmmmmmmmmmm? Keep sharing :-)
I LOVE your rocking chair! It looks so cozy and inviting near your lovely fireplace!
ReplyDeleteI don't have a rocker either. I think I want one eventually, but I'm not sure where I would put it. Yours is lovely!
ReplyDeleteKeeping your sharp eyes open paid off...you found what you wanted without having to buy new. I'm always so happy when I come across a great find like yours. It looks so nice in both photos. You may have to experiment with the places to see where everyone seems to use it more. Have a wonderful weekend.
ReplyDeleteThat is so neat. I have an adult sized rocker in my living room and my daughter Gabrielle has claimed it for her very own. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteHi Kelli,
ReplyDeleteI vote with Fern! Your new rocking chair looks great beside the fireplace, with Fern napping on it of course! lol
Best wishes,

Kelli, What a great rocker you found! I've always loved rocking chairs ever since my own dear Gram had one in her kitchen.
ReplyDeleteI love the rocking chair, I love the size. I like both places, your daughter looks so cute in it next to the bookshelf.
ReplyDeleteWooden rocking chairs are great. We received one as a gift just before our first babe was born. Lots of story reading happened in that chair. Blessings on the ones who spend time in yours..
ReplyDeleteKelli, your rocking chair looks so comfortable.....I love to rock..I like your July 4th decorations...we have a grandson born on the 4th of July so that's a special day for us....Betty
ReplyDeleteI know your family will get a lot of enjoyment from that pretty little chair!
ReplyDeleteRocking chairs add so much comfort to a home. You really got a great deal, Kelli. Have a joyful day!
ReplyDeleteYou know, I just recently bought a rocking chair because it's something I had wanted for years and I finally got one:-) Yours is just lovely and I know you'll get a lot of use out of it. See, even the cat loves it! lol xoxo
ReplyDeleteVery pretty chair, and the perfect size. It looks very useful next to the bookshelves, but I love it next to the fireplace. Fern is so cute!
ReplyDeleteWhat a good deal! Maybe you could just keep moving the rocking chair back and forth until you get tired of it. I know in the winter time it is always nice to read by the fireplace.
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice rocking chair! You got a great deal on that little thing, Kelli! I love you your fireplace, too. I guess your sweet little daughter has to compete with the cat to sit in it!
ReplyDeleteI love to rock! Your rocking chair is really pretty. I bought one this week as well at the Rescue Mission thrift shop for $3.00. Not as nice as yours! Mine needs a little (alot) of cleaning, sanding and painting.
ReplyDeleteThanks again for hosting show and tell!
I love rocking chairs!
ReplyDeleteOh, I love the chair! It's gorgeous! My children love having special chairs for reading.
ReplyDelete~ Christina
Love the size of that rocker! Adorable just adorable.
ReplyDeleteIt looks great wherever you put it. Maybe that is the beauty of the chair, it is so mobile. It may have a mind of its own!
ReplyDeleteThat's a nice rocker for $30! I believe Fern has claimed it. ;-)
ReplyDeleteI was hoping to participate today, but found out that our computer guy must have deleted our old photo software and I'll have to wait for Carissa to get home this evening and re-install it for me. If we can get it going again, I'll try to get it posted tonight or tomorrow.
Have a blessed weekend!
Great chair! Sure looks like it's popular.
ReplyDeleteGod bless :)
You know how I applaude this feature that you so graciously host each week. By the way, I got my link up first try this time!!!

What a great bargain! I think you need to find another one just like it so you can have a rocking chair in front of the fireplace and another in front of the bookcase. :o)
