Adventures with a Golden Retriever Puppy!

Hello everyone! Thank you for the birthday wishes for Emily! We had a fun day and plan to have a get-together with Phillip's family this evening. My family went home this past Wednesday and I'm still getting used to the quiet. It's always hard when a fun vacation is over.

I have been spending all of my free time with our new puppy, Daisy. She certainly keeping us on our toes and seems to be getting bigger every day.

Pond
One of my favorite things is a rainy morning.

Coffee
I love to sit on my patio with a cup of coffee and listen to the rain fall.

Garden
With a new puppy that has all changed though. Instead, I chase her out of the vegetable garden, over and over again.

Daisy
No, you can't chew on the plant stakes.

Daisy
Pouting in the grass.

Daisy
She's not down for long though. The rain picks up and she races around the yard. Did I mention she also likes to jump in my water garden several times a day?

Daisy
And then jump on the patio couch? Repeat all the above at least three times and that is how a usual morning goes around here. It's a good thing she's so cute! :0)

Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!

  1. Oh she is SO cute!

We went through the puppy stage a year and a half ago...but ours was even more unruly- her breed seems to want to chew and bite everything for awhile! Yours looks so much calmer! ;)

  2. She is so cute when she's wet. I had a rainy morning as well. I woke up and found that most of the soil and pine chips had washed out of my flowerbeds.

We spent the morning replacing the chips. The rain really batters my flowers but once the sun comes out the flowers should perk up.

Your new puppy is adorable! I love rainy morning as well. I really liked all the pictures you included in your post. The great thing about puppys and your dogs is that they keep us healhty. We get a lot of exercise chasing those little hooligans around LOL

  17. Well, I hadn't been here when I made the comment about the puppy on the forum. Thanks for the update.
Yep, it IS a good thing they are so cute. Otherwise we'd never make it through to dog-hood.
Oh, no! she goes in the water garden! Ours has a raised framework above the ground or ours probably would too. I wonder what the fish think!

  24. Been there do this, it will pass....someday! Daisy is so darn cute, she is a little heart breaker. Our Beagle LB is still digging up my bulbs, he just loves them. And eats the berries just as soon as they are pink...
It's kinda like having a two year old. I hear the thunder rolling, we have a storm coming in tonight.
    Hugs, Mary

She is so gorgeous !! Puppies can be so naughty but very sweet at the same time. She does love water, but that is because retrievers are water dogs, they love to swim ; )
    Have a great day !!

Hi Kelli, Was blog hopping this morning and ended up at your wonderful blog and seeing Daisy. I have a golden and there's nothing like them. (except for the shedding). Love those soulful eyes, their big noses and mouths and their endearing personalities. Gentleness and always ready to party (go for a walk). I love rainy mornings too. Have a beautiful day. ~ Lynn

I noticed you and I are both fond of Tasha Tudor. Did you know that she died Wednesday? Here is a post I did about her last night. Tash Tudor, May She Rest In Peace

    What an adorable face.

We have a cat and I am forever chasing her down to wipe off her paws when we bring her in. The only person she stands still for is DH. He can call her name and stand there with a rag. The cat comes over and lifts her paws up just waiting to get them cleaned.

    God bless.

  41. Hi, she's soo sweet..! I only hope for you she doesn't still do this when she's 3 or 4 times the size she is now (as our Golden Retriever would do..!)..:)

  42. Kelli,

Oh gosh, I'm sending you a hug! I feel your pain/joy! Things are a bit better since I wrote yesterday. Tildy is learning and so are we!

I can't let her loose in the backyard as she is so small, she could get out under the fence and into the street. Plus we have a sweet little potting shed in the backyard.. A family of of ground hogs take residence underneath. They come out from time to time. I'd hate to have Tildy to in after them and never to come out. They are at least 10 times bigger than she is.

I'll say a prayer for you all and your Daisy. Things will get better!

  48. Oh gosh Kelli, the look on your dear Daisy's face has made me laugh out loud! What a handful puppies can be, and what a delight too.
I love your garden and little pond. It looks like such a lovely place for children and puppies to explore.
One of my favorite times in late spring and summer are those days when the weather is warm enough to have the doors and windows open, but it's raining outside. I love the sound, and the smell. I light my candles and put some pretty music on, and enjoy all of it!
