Happy July! It's a beautiful summer morning here in Texas. Emily's sunflower is just beginning to open.
My thyme has gone a little wild and has plenty of pretty flowers.
Speaking of wild things, I haven't weeded my gardens in about a month. I'm off to work before it gets too hot.
Give a weed an inch and it will take a yard.

Your flowers are lovely! I'm hoping to get some photos of my lillies and tomatoes. I just love the look of lillies and only wish they bloomed longer.
I just did quite a bit of weeding two weeks ago and noticed that things are already getting wild around the garden again. I guess I know how I'll be spending my 4th of July. LOL

ReplyDeleteHey, that little round-leafed plant that splays out and has sort of thick leaves, in the upper right section of your weed photo? Did you know it's good to eat. Lots of vitamin C. I like to rinse and chop it into a salad. It has a very nice flavor, too.
It's called 'purslane'. Maybe you already knew that. I just can't help myself sharing stuff like that.
I even cultivated some purslane last year in my herb patch. It got really big.

ReplyDeleteYour flowers are gorgeous. And your weeds don't look too bad, either. You should see the huge weeds my sweetheart and I pulled this evening from a too-long-neglected flower bed. One pull and half the bed was freed of weeds! The trailing, viney kind.
