Vintage Linens~Show and Tell Friday!

Welcome to “Show and Tell Friday!” Do you have something special to share with us? It could be a trinket from grade school, a piece of jewelry, or a treasured collection. Look around your home for something to share; dig through those boxes in your closet if you have to! Share photos and the story that goes with your special item.

Napkins
A few weeks ago I picked up a small bundle of linens for $4.00 at an estate sale. I couldn't tell exactly how many there were, but I assumed 6.

Napkins
They aren't even close to perfect condition, but still very sweet. All hand done applique and embroidered strawberries.

Napkins
When I got them home, I unwrapped them and was happy to discover 4 napkins and 4 placemats!

Napkins
Even more handiwork on the placemats.

Napkins
They will be perfect for a summertime tea. Thank you for looking at my new treasures! I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

  65. I love vintage linens. I have some that are family heirlooms, some I made a long time ago and many that I buy at thrift and antique stores.

They are always made with such love and dedication. I've always wondered how those that you find in thrift stores can be turned loose by their owners. And I always wonder about the person who made them.
