Camping and Banana Muffins

Lake
Good morning! We survived our camping trip. :0) You can't tell from the pictures, but it was *very* windy and was on the edge of raining the whole weekend.

Sky
It did rain a little on Saturday night, but we slept through it.

Lake
We had a fun time visiting with friends and there was a playground and lake for swimming.

Daisy
Even Daisy went swimming.

Emily
My favorite part of camping is always the extra time to sit back and relax.

Coffee
The French press coffee.

Marshmallows
And roasted marshmallows!

We are finally getting that rain and are moving slowly this morning. We have lots to do...school work, laundry, dishes, and maybe a little baking. Speaking of baking, I made some banana muffins last week. Here is the recipe...

Banana muffins

Banana Muffins

1 3/4 cups flour
1/3 cup sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 egg
1/2 cup milk
1/4 cup oil or melted butter
3/4 cup mashed banana

In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. In a separate bowl, combine the egg, milk, oil and banana. Add to flour mixture and stir just till moistened. Lightly grease muffin cups and fill 2/3 full. Bake in a 400F oven for 15-20 minutes or until golden. Remove from pans; serve warm. Makes 10-12.

Thank you for stopping by for a visit and have a wonderful start to your week!

Fairy Gardens

Fairy garden
Good morning! Thank you for your wonderful comments about my new mini bistro table and fairy garden. I had a few questions about where I got the fairy items, so I will try to answer them all.

Fairy garden
My mom found the plastic patio floor and table set at a yardsale last year, *but* you can get very similar ones in the dollhouse section at Hobby Lobby. This is also where I got all the gardening tools and mini pots.

Fairy garden
The "pond" is a small mirror, also found at Hobby Lobby or Michaels.

Fairy garden
Here is what the fairy garden looked like last year. I didn't have the the patio, so I made one with small tiles found in the mosaic supply section of Michaels.

Fairy garden

Fairy House
And lastly, another type of fairy garden that I've had. The door is from the dollhouse section, which I painted and set up against a small rock. The stepping stones were also found in the mosaic supply section.

If you don't have a Hobby Lobby or Michaels near you, just search for "garden dollhouse" at Ebay and you will find lots of cute things. I shouldn't have just looked! ;0) Let me know if I missed any questions and have a wonderful weekend!

Happy Friday! Today, I am sharing a new addition to our patio. I fell in love with this mini bistro table set from Hobby Lobby, and I especially liked the 50% off price tag! I was originally going to put it in my secret garden on the side of the house, but it gets more use here.

Chair
It is wrought iron and has that white shabby look.

Table
Grace has a potted pink vinca on the table and there is a view of our water garden.

Pond
Our lily pads are slowly coming up and will turn bright green soon.

Speaking of tables...the fairies in our garden have been enjoying their patio table as well.

Easter Celebrations

Lavender
Good morning! Thank you for all of the Happy Easter wishes. I hope you and your family had a wonderful celebration, too. We had a good week off of school and I had extra time to clean out the gardens and plant flowers.

Hot cross buns
I made a double batch of hot cross buns on Friday. Thankfully, the neighborhood kids helped eat them.

Easter baskets
We went to a fun Easter party on Saturday and then stayed up late cooking, baking, and putting baskets together.

Easter outfits
It was cold and rainy, but we still dressed up in our spring outfits for church.

Daisy
Daisy had fun raiding the Easter baskets while we were gone. She especially liked the bubble gum and peeps. Then, she dug in the muddy sandbox. Twice.

Dinner
We had a delicious ham dinner with Phillip's family and a friend from church. I won't have to cook for a week!

Flowers
Now it's time to start a new week and get back into our routines. How was your weekend?

An Easter Blessing

After 3+ years of blogging and almost 1000 posts, I'm going to take my first ever blogging break for the week. I will stop by and post the winners of Paper Crafting Wednesday, but there won't be a project, and like last year, no Show and Tell Friday in honor of Good Friday.

We are off from school and I will be busy in the garden, decorating eggs, baking hot cross buns, attending our church's Resurrection service, and enjoying a family Easter dinner.

May Easter bring you a happy heart,
and may your spirit rejoice in the risen Lord!
