Weekend Chit-Chat
Hello! This week has gone by so quickly and we still have plenty to do for Thanksgiving, next week. A few evenings ago, the girls had a friend over and they surprised me with a homemade spaghetti and meatball dinner.
They even set the table, folded fancy napkins and lit candles. Oh, and loaded the dishwasher! Everyone finished up their schoolwork and are looking forward to a week off.
Progress is being made on the patio. The 3 underground drains are finished and the next step is to fill in the entire area with cement.
I found new fabric for the patio furniture cushions. Now, I just need a sewing machine. Any recommendations for $150.00 or less?
I'd also like to finish up my kitchen deep cleaning and organization. Thank you for stopping by for a visit and I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
I love paisley. :)
ReplyDeleteThe girls did a great job. We just finished up our schoolwork for the week, too. We are looking forward to a week of no school next week. Have a great Thanksgiving. Love the fabric. Carla
ReplyDeleteLove the colors in the fabric. Where did you find it?
ReplyDeleteI found it at Hobby Lobby. The cotton is 30% off through tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteI love the fabric. And how wonderful to be treated to a spaghetti dinner. The girls did a great job with the table. As for sewing machines, I would look at reviews as much a possible. Sometimes some machines can vibrate a lot or not hold tension as well. I have a kenmore that I love. But other brands can be good to. Sewing is so much fun and if you need an excuse, just think how your daughters can use it too. ;)

I love my old Viking; it's so reliable. I bought it used and it is just like the ones I went to school with in Home Ec. But they may be more than $150... Have a nice holiday.
ReplyDeleteThe fabric is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteYou have raised them well. They did a wonderful job. I saw some good deals on sewing machines at Joanns fabric...don't know if you have one of those but they were pretty nice.
ReplyDeleteAlways good to see a post from you pop up in Google Reader!
ReplyDeleteHow nice of your girls to make dinner!
My mom got me a Sears Kenmore sewing machine 30 years ago -- I dread the day I have to buy a new one because there are so many more brands and features these days. But that one has been a dream.
What a lovely surprise! Good girls! Sounds like the patio will be outstanding. You can probably find an old Singer on ebay for not much.
ReplyDeleteHi Kelli!
ReplyDeleteWhat a thoughtful gesture from your daughters! The patio is starting to take form and looks great! I, too, am busy getting ready for Thanksgiving. I am hosting this year (about 20 family members). It will be such a wonderful time. Have a splendid holiday!
God Bless,
Hillary
This is gorgeous fabric Kelli. I can't wait to see how it looks when you are finished. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving week. Kathi
ReplyDeleteKelli, what a sweet thing your girls did for you:)
ReplyDeleteMy kitchen is almsot done too, I just have a junk drawer to do:)
Happy Monday!

Love that fabric!
ReplyDeleteOn the sewing machine...I would check out any sales between now and Christmas. Lots of places are having good ones, and you can get a decent machine. I know Target and WalMart both sell sewing machines.
I would also check out your local thrift stores. I got my current machine (a vintage 1960's Singer Rockateer) for $20!
Good luck!
Hello, very nice blog, lots of wonderful ideas. I will be going to visit.
