New Thrift Store Finds

Silver
Thank you for stopping by for a visit and your comments on our recent celebrations. Today, I am sharing some recent thrift store and estate sale finds. I got this silver cake server and small spoon for $3.00.

Silver
I still need to clean it, but the detail work is beautiful.

Magazines
I am especially happy with this next find: 40 Martha Stewart Magazines, many of them dating back to 1995/1996.

Magazine
I love looking through the back issues each month. I got each one for 59 cents.

Book shelf
I am officially out of room on my bookshelf now!

Tea cups
And lastly, some of you will remember these tea cups that I found last year.

Tea cups
They didn't have saucers, so I've slowly been collecting ones to match the soft green, blue and pink.

Most of them are around $1.00 each.

Tea cups
Only two more to go and my set will be complete.

Thank you for taking a look at my new treasures!

Tea cups
I was dropping off a few packages at the post office this week, and somehow found myself at a favorite gift shop near our historic downtown, afterwards. ;0)

Tea cup
I picked out a few sticker sheets and was checking out when I noticed some beautiful transferware tea cups.

I thought they were perfect for Thanksgiving and brought two of them home with me.

Jewelry box
Today, I would like to share some special things in my bathroom. Some of them you will recognize from past show and tells.

Tray
The gold mirrored tray was a yard sale find.

Treasures
It's just a little spot to keep my perfume, trinket boxes and jewelry.

Perfume
These two perfume bottles were gifts from my mom and sister.

Cup
Another gift from my mom: a tiny rosebud cup.

Rings
The perfect size for rings.

Treasures
More gifts and special jewelry.

Plate
A mini plate with a pretty scene.

Jewelry
It holds several pairs of favorite earrings.

Thank you for looking at my special things! Also, thank you for your comments on my simple fall pleasures and homemade cards. I got the set of chestnut kitchen soaps at Marshalls.

Last week we went to the Texas State Fair for the first time. I've always wanted to go, so when our pastor's wife offered us free tickets, I gladly took them!

One of the highlights was riding the huge ferris wheel. I closed my eyes going up the first time around, but felt more brave the second time. :0)

Crystal
Along with the games, rides and food, there were craft and gift booths. Phillip got me two new crystals for my kitchen window.

Rock candy
He also got me a stick of rock candy. A few years before we were married, he gave me a similar stick from the Del Mar fair in San Diego, CA. It sat on my dresser for many years, but eventually crumbled away.

Now I have a brand new stick to remind me of those special times! Thank you for looking at my fair treasures!
