I've been looking for a good oatmeal cookie recipe for years so when I saw my friend, Heather's recipe I had to try it!
I added a teaspoon of cinnamon to my dough, other than that I didn't change a thing!
After making the dough into balls...
...roll each one in powdered sugar.
All ready for a big glass of milk!
Be sure to visit Heather at A Quiet Place of Rest for the recipe! Heather, when I asked the girls and Benjamin if they liked them they said, "Yes! You need to make them more often!" :0) Thank you for the wonderful recipe!
Yum!! I love making oatmeal cookies but never thought of rolling them in powdered sugar. I will have to try that next time I make those!!
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of that either. I am all for rolling anything in sugar so it sounds delicious!

ReplyDeleteThose look delicious. They remind me of snickerdoodles, the color and the rolling in sugar.
ReplyDeleteAnd I am with Grace. I think my students would love it if I called off school in honor of National Apron Day. Let's go shopping Grace!
Oooooo... yummy! I'll definitely have to go check out that recipe. It sounds and LOOKS delicious :o)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing all of the pictures ~ I love to see the process :o) you are very NEAT baker.... I'm very MESSY :o)
I'm so glad your family likes the recipe Kelli! I love cinnamon and think that would be a nice addition, but as I wrote in my blog, I was specifically looking for a really plain cookie that my husband remembered and loved. They were a big hit in our family too! Did you find them terribly sweet? I did, but I try to avoid sugar!
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
Heather
Oh, yum! I love the last step with rolling them in powdered sugar, that makes them, can't wait to try!
ReplyDeleteKelli, were they the really soft ones? My friend has a recipe that is good, but they are crunchy. I like the soft ones.
ReplyDeleteJennifer, I was a messy baker today, I just left that out of the picture! LOL
ReplyDeleteMarci, they are very soft!

Oh, those look so good. I've never heard of rolling them in powdered sugar, either, but I bet they are great. My girls love sugar on anything, so in their eyes, it would only improve the cookies.
