I had a great time at the bookstore. I woke up on my birthday and read some new Victoria magazines so that cheered me up. I'm not going to tell you how many out of print Victoria's I found ( I don't want to make anyone sad!) but I did find some duplicates to share. I found three E. Nesbit books. The kids and I are going to start "Five Children and It" tonight. I got "A stitch in time" which is a quilt trilogy. It takes place in the late 1800's. Last, but not least, I found a Louisa May Alcott book that I had not heard of. "Under the Lilacs." I know you aren't supposed to judge a book by its cover, but this book has a very nice one. :0)
The cashier gave most of the Victoria's to me for $1.00 plus 15 % off my total bill. And she didn't even know it was my birthday!

Company for Lunch
We had some good friends over for lunch today. I made some potato soup and homemade bread. They stayed for a couple of hours which in my opinion is the best kind of visit. I don't enjoy the "eat and run" kind of company. I enjoyed catching up with them and watching a movie. They have a little girl who just turned 1. She is very cute and very well behaved. I'm not just saying this because they will see this later on tonight. :)
We are off to a warehouse sized used bookstore. I have a list of books I hope to find, but hopefully I'll find some treasures that aren't on my list too.

Happy Birthday to me
My dear friend, Elizabeth sent me a birthday present. How did she know I have been wanting some lilypad Monet fabric?! I plan on making a patchwork apron out of it. Thank you Elizabeth, for the fabric and quilt templates! I'll let you know how it turns out.

As you can see from the birthday photos Grace had a great day! Last night Nana and Papa came over to celebrate. We had chicken enchiladas, spanish rice, salad and of course, leftover cake and icecream!
One of Grace's gifts of a counted cross-stitch. I have never tried it so it took an hour for me to get all the colors sorted and instructions read. Grace has 10 little x's completed. 10, 794 more to go. ;0)
I am still feeling a little under the weather so we didn't go to the park with our playgroup today. I was feeling better this afternoon so we went grocery shopping. We also went to Home Depot to pick up some paint samples. I'm going to paint the entryway and our bedroom this coming week. Oh, and Benjamin's room. I really don't like painting, but it will look great when it is all finished.
