I have all of my fall decorations up and wanted to show you a few of them.
Here is my fall wreath. I left my garden spade doorknocker up until Christmas. I found the leaf garlands, sunflowers and ribbon all at the dollar store. :0)
A fall garden flag greets you near our front door.
It is our tradition to watch Anne of Green Gables and Avonlea on the first day of fall so that is what we will be doing today. Since we don't get the dramatic change of seasons where we live, it is always nice to watch this movie, which was mostly filmed in Ontario, Canada where I grew up. There are alot of fall scenes in it. :0)
We are also going to make sugar cookies and use our fall leaf cutters and fall sprinkles to decorate them. We will drink warmed apple cider flavored with some wonderful mulling spices that my friend Revee gave me yesterday. :0)

Everyone must take time to sit and watch the leaves turn. ~Elizabeth Lawrence

Happy first day of Autumn! I was at Walmart yesterday and picked up the fall leaf cookie cutters and some sprinkles ~ I plan on making a batch of sugar cookies to send my Dad! I hope you and yours have a lovely day...
Kelli, your Fall home is so beautiful! I love all the little fall touches you have been showing us, everything is so charming. The cookies and cider sounds delic. and I think it is a wonderful idea to watch the movie. Have fun! If it's any consolation, it is ninety degrees here in Virginia today:) Happy Fall!
Has it cooled down yet, Kelli? I love your fall decorations and a day of baking, cider and Anne sounds wonderful!
It sounds as though you are going to have a perfect day - it conjures up such a lovely inviting and cosy picture. I wish we had things like Fall leaf cookie cutters and Fall sprinkles in UK!
Happy Fall to you also.
I'm coming over for some sugar cookies and cider at your house!
I love that you watch Anne on the first day of Autumn - what a great tradition! I think I'm going to get my own copy so I can follow your lead next year!
And the dollar store is responsible for pretty much all of my fall decor, too!
Happy first day of fall Kelli! Love your decorations. The cookie cutters sound cute. I bought a pumpkin cutter but haven't used it yet. Hope ya'll enjoy the day!
Kelli I have never watched either of those movies! Nor read the books...dont shout at me...it's Mama's fault!! LOL...oh I dont want to go to work tomorrow...I want to go watch the leaves change!!!!!
Your wreath is beautiful, Kelli. I love the ribbon!
Enjoy the first day of Autumn!
P.S. Your letter is in the mail. :)
Well Tina, if you are going to watch them both in one day, it will take you about 8 hours, but very worth it. =)
I think it is so important to have traditions in our home. I love reading about what others do.
Thanks for sharing.
Happy first day of Fall to you too:-) Love your wreath and flag, so very beautiful!! I also love the Fall traditions you have...I bet the house smells so good between the cookies and cider...yummmm! Hugs xoxo
I love that movie! :)
Thank you for the tour, your cookie cutters reminded me that I need to make up some cookies this week with my fall leaves cutters as well.
Kelli, I can hardly keep up with all your wonderful posts...I am going to take some time to read all the ones I've missed recently.
I love your fall traditions and decorating!! Debbie
I love Anne of Green Gables! What a great tradition. My DH took the children out yesterday to look for conkers and leaves so we'll make a "nature bowl" today...but that's about as far as I get with Autumn decorating...we don't do it in the UK. Perhaps we should !
I'm like Clarice...can I pretty-please come to your home?? Wow, everything is lovely and you have some wonderful memory-making ideas! Anne of Green Gables and Anne of Avonlea are big-time favorites at our house! You and I have a lot in common...I know we'd be great friends if we lived closer!
Thanks for sharing and I can't wait to read more! Also, thanks for your visits to my blog and your sweet comments...you are so encouraging!! I've added you to my favorite links section.
Have a wonderful week!
Blessings to a kindred spirit!
You have such a lovely variety of ideas to welcome fall. I just love Anne of Green Gables, as well. May your autumn be truly blessed.
