A Special Birthday

Hello everyone! Thank you so much for all the wonderful birthday wishes!!! Quite often I hear people talking about how they doubt the ability to have friends on the internet. I want to tell them about you all, my sweet friends in blogland! You really made my birthday special, so thank you again for all the birthday wishes. I appreciate every one of them.

I was so excited to find out that I won my friend Anita's Valentine Heart Giveaway. Look at what she is sending me in the mail...

Isn't it just beautiful?!! Thank you , Anita!

My mother-in-law took Grace and I birthday shopping this past weekend and I got this new birdbath/watering station. So far the birds are scared of it, but I'm sure they'll warm up to it eventually!

My parents and sister sent me this sweet Peter Rabbit Calendar and a Donna Dewberry painting book. I can't wait to get out my paint brushes. Have any of you tried her method of painting?

My sister sent me this lovely set of gardening note cards....don't they make you wish for spring?!

My favorite gifts were from the girls and Benjamin. First thing in the morning, Emily gave me an assortment of things. A silk rose, a toy top, coins, all things that were special to her, tied up in a lavender sachet bag.

Grace wrote me two stories: The Magic Horse and The Magic Acorn. Both wonderful, of course! :0) Both girls also got me some note cards (I guess I should get caught up on my letter writing!) and Benjamin gave me his favorite pen and pencil, which he wrapped up in paper that he drew wonderful pictures all over.

As you can see, I was very spoiled by my friends and family! Thank you again, for all the birthday wishes and for letting me share about my special day.

Kelli, glad you had a great birthday!

I took a beginner Donna Dewberry art class and practiced at home a lot! It is really quite simple once you get the hang of loading the brush right and the amount of pressure on the brush. Don't get discouraged if your roses look like blobs at first. I'll take some pictures of my first attempts and then show you what I did to my house once I got brave enough! :) I haven't painted in about a year though, because I didn't want my whole house to look like Donna Dewberry Wonderland. ;)

Have fun with it!

Kelli, you're welcome! What a nice welcome to see my heart on your blog, too! It's already on its way to you and via airmail, it should arrive at the beginning of next week, I hope!

Have fun with your new painting set. Will you show us your results? Pleeeease!

You really got very nice birthday presents! A birthbath, that's interesting, I never heart of that before...

I already had some visitors at my blog who come over from yours... I always appreciate new visitors!

It sounds like your birthday was wonderful. Your family loves and appreciates you!! Glad it was such a great day.

My Dani does the Donna Dewberry painting. That's the technique she's used in my home (as well as in my laundry room that I've posted about on my blog). She picked it up pretty handily, and I'm sure you will, too!

What wonderful presents you've received Kelli! I love the ones from your children...you can tell they love their mama very much. I've always wished I could paint and I've seen Donna Dewberry demonstrate her flowers on television before. She makes it look so easy!

How appropriate that you won the patchwork heart, Birthday Girl! It is lovely, and your posted photos are lovely and heartwarming...
I need to go and sew the robe for my granddaughter's American Girl doll...I have the pattern now and seeing Molly's has reminded me!

Kelli, so happy that you won the cute little heart! So wonderful to see all the thoughtful gifts you received for your birthday. I have a bird feeder identical to your birdbath and the birds eventually came around after a bit. lol I'll have to keep an eye out for the birdbath now to match it.

The titles to Grace's stories sound very pretty! :)
