Homemade Card

Card
As you know I have Autumn on my mind, so I have a colored leaves card project to share today.

Card
You will need a 5" x 7" notecard.

Card
Cut a slightly smaller rectangle of scrapbook paper and tear all the edges. Glue to front of card.

Envelope
Make a mini envelope from cardstock or scrapbook paper.

Leaves
I found these die cut fall leaves at Michaels, but you could use stickers instead.

Leaves
Or even floral leaves.

Envelope
Arrange leaves in and on the front of the envelope and glue in place.

Card
Glue the envelope to front of card.

Paper
Print or write a saying of your choice on paper. Cut out and dab the edges with ink pad.

Card
Glue to front of card, along with addition leaves, pumpkins, etc.

Card
Send to a friend!

Hi, Kelli.

Your cards are beautiful! I make my own cards as well from dried flowers that I dry myself.

I also make cards by pounding flowers unto the paper. Have you ever made a card in this way?

It is really easy. Take a flower(thin ones like pansies work really well) and lay it face down on the card. (for flower pounding you must use watercolor paper as the cardstock). Lay the card on a piece of cardboard and then the cardboard on a cutting board. Lay the flower face down somewhere on the card. Lay a piece of paper tower over the flower and pound gently with a hammer until you see an imprint on the paper towel. You will have to practice first until you can figure out how hard to hammer. Let the cards dry. If any petals remain, brush them off. Any faint areas can be colored in with pencil crayons.

Pretty card indeed!

So which friend or family member will be the honored one to recieve this blessing? :-)
Do you send your cards out often to family? If so I bet they cherish them. I know I would. Sure beats a Hallmark card any day!

Thursday blessings,
Dawn

What a beautiful card that would be to receive in the mail. Autumn is such a wonderful season - the warm colors and the cool weather.

The biscuits look yummy. I will have to give them a try.
