Monday Chit~Chat

IMG_0861.JPG
Good morning! I hope you had a good weekend. A few weeks ago, we had friends over for dinner. Grace did a wonderful job setting the table and the centerpiece is our three tiered platter with lots of different seashells.

IMG_0867.JPG
I made a salad with romaine, red and green peppers, green onions, cucumber, grape tomatoes and black olives.

IMG_0870.JPG
Right before dinner I added feta cheese and a romano basil dressing.

IMG_0869.JPG
Phillip grilled chicken and we also had sour dough bread.

IMG_0872.JPG
We ended the meal with strawberries, peaches, and blueberries or vanilla ice cream. It was quick and easy, and no one had to spend all day in the kitchen!

It is supposed to be cooler this week, but I'm still glad we are finished with swim lessons. I have several things on my weekly to-do list: vet appointment for Daisy, renew drivers license, menu plan and grocery shop. Thank you for stopping by for a visit. I hope you have a great start to your week!

I don't have an exact recipe. Just the vegetables I mentioned, feta cheese and Wishbone Romano Basil dressing. Italian would work great, too!

We're all about salads right now too. It is just too hot to cook. It's been in the 3 digits and supposed to be that today as well. Your salad looks great. I pretty much make it like that but don't put olives, I put sliced apples. Have a great week Kelli.

Kelli, I didn't post a Show & Tell on Friday because of my problem with the computer but visited a bunch of folks who did.
That salad reminds me of a greek one I buy at the NY Deli some times. With warm bread, chicken and dessert, it is just the kind of summer meal we all need to eat.

What beautiful looking and sounding foods. I may copy these for next summer's family get-together at the lake; I've been needing some fresh ideas.

We did swim lessons for Miller too. He did really well for his first time. They are 2 weeks long...I kind of missed going to them yesterday...lol. Now its time to get ready for back to school....summer is slowly coming to an end...kind of sad.

The salad looks and sounds wonderful. It is dark but I would like to pick some lettuce from my garden. I already have the cucumber, black olives, tomatoes and green pepper. Also, I picked some fresh basil which smells great. Thank you for sharing.
