Show and Tell Friday!

Welcome to “Show and Tell Friday!” Do you have something special to share with us? It could be a trinket from grade school, a piece of jewelry, or a treasured collection. Look around your home for something to share; dig through those boxes in your closet if you have to! Share photos and the story that goes with your special item.

Entryway
Hello! Today I am sharing a special picture that hangs above our front door. It was a gift from my parents when we moved into our house 9 years ago.

Picture
As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. Joshua 24:15

Picture
It is a single sheet of paper and the border has been cut out in a delicate pattern of flowers, hearts and swirls.

Picture
Even the letters are tiny slits in the paper.

PIcture

Entry way
I also added a few autumn touches to my entryway.

Wreath

Autumn bouquet

Autumn candles
Thank you for looking at my show and tell!

I have heard that paper cutting is a craft. My mom knew of a lady that did that.

Your sign is very beautiful; and a unique way to display that scripture. :)

And I love the autumn touches you put in your entry way. I especially like the wreath hanging over the mirror. Very pretty! :)

What a lovely verse to grace your wall. We have a similar blessing that was a wedding gift (Visit we beseech thee oh Lord...) and still have it on the wall after almost 25 yrs.
Your decor is definitely autumn-very pretty!

I love the wall hanging over the door. It looks a little like, and I do not think I am spelling this correctly, sharon che-neat-ta. Pronounce it the way I spelled it. I have done it at youth camps at church. Great craft for detailed children/youth, non detailed children/youth completely fall apart or bounce off the walls and need to be somewhere else. One of those occasions where I was glad I was not in charge. LOL!

Kelli, I have something for you on my blog. When you get a chance, stop by and pick it up. :D I posted earlier this week to you, but it was post number 65 or something like that so you might not have gotten it.

Your entryway is so welcoming! Thank you for sharing the pictures with us. :o)

The frame your parents gave you is beautiful! Did they make it themselves? I've heard of Scherenschnitte before and have become interested in finding patterns lately so I could give it a try... if it's not too much trouble to ask, do you happen to know where the pattern is from or any other information about it? (If you don't know or don't have time to find out, I completely understand!)
