Monday Chit~Chat

Water Lily
Our day started with overcast skies and cooler temperatures. We even got a little rain.

Flowers
My water lilies and several other flowers waited for the sun to come out, but we enjoyed a break from the 100+F temperatures.

Blueberry Cake
I baked a Blueberry Cream Cheese Coffee Cake for breakfast. Then, in the afternoon there was a surprise trip to a water park.

Thinking ahead to this week, we are having friends over for dinner on Wednesday and a houseful for the 4th of July. What do you have going on this week?

That coffee cake looks scrumptious!

I have a newsletter due for our ladies' group at church plus my mother-in-laws birthday to shop for this week.

I've been hearing from friends down there about your 100+ degree temps . . . and I do NOT miss it at all! LOL Glad you got a reprieve today.

Our church is joining with another church for a Canada Day picnic and joint Wednesday evening service in the park.

We have had a cool front come through Nebraksa! And that's great because our FL relatives are arriving on Weds. for a 7 day visit.

Hi Kelli! Tomorrow I am going fishing with my husband....the first time in many years. Wednesday and Thursday we are keeping our granddaughters so their parents can go away for a night at the coast. Saturday we are going to a community parade and later there will be a BBQ at the home of my son. Pretty full week for me.

Love, Debbi

Yummy coffee cake!!

We will be heading out to a girl scout camp site for the weekend. We are having 109 degree weather (BLECH), and are excited to escape it for a few days!

Okay, I don't see that recipe in the sidebar. So, will you share it with us?
It looks yummy! I love blueberries. We never had them when I was growing up. I don't know why except maybe they wouldn't grow on a sandstone mountain. We had Blackberries and they are good but I don't like the seeds. I have to remember to buy some blueberries to freeze while they are plentiful and inexpensive.
Enjoy your week,
Mama Bear

I can't imagine 100 temps! We're lucky not to get that hot, but on the shore here it is humid alot.
The coffee cake looks wonderful.

Coffee cake looks good. Taking care of a lot of odds and ends (paper work mainly). Don't know about the 4th just yet - waiting to see if company is coming.

I love your Lily pond. Our 4th is going to be very quiet:) Just a family BBQ:) My little girl does not like the fireworks, the loud noise always scares her. I know we can see the works from a look out in my neighborhood, so we will try that, and hopefully the noise won't be too bad.

Have a Happy 4th Kelli.

Oh, I have a Blueberry/Cream Cheese Coffee Cake that I love and haven't made in a LONG time. Thanks for the reminder. We have 2 birthday's this week (youngest yesterday and oldest on Saturday) so we've been celebrating. I also need to decide what we're taking to friends on the 4th and prep what we're taking to the Church Picnic on Sunday. Whew!
