I have a guest blogger today! My daughter, Grace (9 yrs. old) would like to share with you a fun summertime craft and a yummy treat that she made for us this afternoon.
The first thing I want to show you is my new bubble machine. It's quick and easy to make.
You will need:
-A plastic tub with a lid (I used a small Philadelphia cream cheese tub)
-Liquid dish soap
Punch a hole in the top edge of the plastic tub. Slide the straw in the hole, flexi end first.
Put a squirt of liquid dish soap inside. Fill the tub halfway full of water.
Punch a hole on top of the lid, put the lid on with the hole facing the opposite side of the straw.
Make sure the lid is on tight and blow through the straw. Have fun!
Now it's time for a snack!
Can you guess what it is?
Melt 3 tablespoons of butter in large saucepan over low heat.
Add about 40 large marshmallows and stir until completely melted. Remove from heat. Make sure you rest your arm after all that stirring. :o)
Add 6 cups of rice krispie cereal. Stir until well coated.
Using a buttered spatula (or fingers!) press mixture evenly into a 9X13 pan coated with cooking spray.
Cut into squares when cool.
I ate mine in a few seconds!
Do you like rice krispie treats?
I loved the bubble machine!
We love Rice Krispy Treats, too, and plan to make some this week before our Daddy leaves (they are one of his favorites).
Continue enjoying your summer!
Thanks, Grace, for sharing both of those projects! That bubble machine is way cool! And those rice krispy treats look reeeeeeeeally good. I'm going to have to make some very soon.
Enjoy the rest of your summer!
Love Rice Krispies treats! We put peanut butter in ours and melt chocolate chips and peanut butter chips together and drizzle on top.

I love Rice Krispie treats, Grace! And you did a great job showing us how to make them. I actually have a church cook book that has that recipe in it because it was the pastor's favorite treat. Isn't that funny?

I think I need to go get a treat!
Looks like she had fun with the craft project and the treats! :)
Here I am, about to go to bed, but in these last few quiet moments, I found your blog via someone else, of course... you know how that goes! I didn't want to "lurk," so I thought I'd say "hi," and tell you I really enjoyed these few moments. I am looking forward to returning soon, so I think I'll put your link in my (small) blogroll, if you don't mind. It makes it easy for me to find who I want to visit again! I'm a homeschooling mom of 3, so it was fun to look at your creative ideas.
What a wonderful *Guest* Blogger:)
The bubble machine was very clever--I know my kids will love that. Rice Krispy treats--YUMMY!!
Great post Grace! We love rice krispie treats - I actually just bought fruity pepples to make the marshmallow treats with that cereal - it was on the bag of marshmallows - we'll see how they taste! And, I think, no-I know, my son and daughter will love those bubble machines - great ideas, thanks for sharing them with us!
Grace, can I come over and have a rice krispie snack with you ~ they look "yummylicious!" Your bubble machine is the neatest thing... I will have to make that when my niece comes to visit because she loves bubbles. Thanks for sharing your wonderful ideas with us:o)
Grace, thank you for sharing your projects for the day! That bubble machine looks like something my daughters would love. And Rice Krispy Treats are a beloved treat around here.
Great job, Grace! I love rice krispie treats. Isn't it fun to make stuff to share with your family.
Great projects, Grace! The bubble machine looks fun. What a great idea! I do like Rice Krispy treats (and yours look yummy), but I make mine with peanut butter now, since our family doesn't eat marshmallows since they have gelatin. I have tried to make regular with Marshmallow Fluff (which doesn't have gelatin), but they were SUPER, SUPER sticky!! I'm inspired to try again, though, after seeing your pictures, though.
Hi Kellie, just came to your site over Regina's blog. I love your recipes, especially the Peanut Butter Cookies....perfect, gonna try this one at the weekend. By the w, I really like your blog.
Yum! Those rice krispy treats look awesome!
My 2-year-old and I are going to make your bubble machine. I bet she will love it.
Thanks for sharing, Grace
The bubble machine is awesome!!! And the treats yummy!!!
Hi Grace:-) What a very neat idea about the bubble machine, I must remember that one!! The little girl next door would love that so I'll have to help her make one by following your excellent instructions:-) I LOVE rice krispie squares....yum yum!! xox
what a cute idea!!
Love Rice Krispie treats. Havent' made them in a while but had part of ds' from Fudd Ruckers the other day.
What a funny bubble game this must be, and another of your clever ideas!
We have this kind of Philadelphia cream cheese over here in Germany, too (same brand) but I've never heard of rice krispie cereals... What a pity!
P.S.: This is my first comment with a new profil picture!!! ;-))
I bought the stuff to make those last week, but Jacob ate the bag of marshmellows and we had the Rice Krispies for breakfast a few times! Now that we have a recipe we have no excuse to get the stuff and actually MAKE THEM! :D
What a wonderful "guest" blogger!! That's a great idea for a bubble machine. We will have to try it! And as for the Rice Krispy treats--yum!!!
Love those bubbles!
I love peanut butter rice krispy treats, you just omit the marshmellowes for a cup of peanut butter....hmmmm good.thanks for sharing that bubble machine Idea, I am sure my kids would like to do that.
I love that bubble blower ... so much neater to take outside rather than blowing bubbles in a glass of milk (and overflowing all over the dining room table)! ;o)
And Rice Krispy Treats are a favorite at our house. :o)
PS to Kelli ~ I confessed to my son I'd posted in his name. After he read what I'd said on your blog we were all ROFLOL with tears running down our face! He said when he gets his own computer, I'm not allowed to go online with it. Hmph ~ imagine banning your own momma just because she indicated you liked teacups and invited a woman to tea in your name! Children now-a-days! ;oD
I love the bubble maker. Keira would love it!! She goes crazy when I blow bubbles :)
That bubble machine looks like such fun for summer. My 8½ yr old grandson would love it!
Rice Krispie treats are a favorite here too. Sometimes we add chocolate chips to ours :)
