My New Wagon Planter

Hello! Thank you to all who left a comment for my book giveaway! I used random.org to figure out the winner and I'm happy to announce that Becki from Field Lilies is the lucky duck! Congratulations Becki! Email me your address and I will get them right out to you!

I had a wonderful Mother's Day yesterday. The girls made me breakfast in bed and everyone gave me sweet and thoughtful gifts that they picked out. After church Phillip took me out to lunch and best of all, I got lots of hugs and kisses!

We had a relaxing afternoon at home and I want to show you a little something I worked on.

Wagon
Last summer, this dirty and rusty red wagon was sitting out by the curb for trash pickup.

Wagon
I brought it home, cleaned it and the it has come in handy for lots of different things.

Food
It has even held summertime snacks!

Wagon
I thought I would do something different this year.

Pots
I gathered up my various terra cotta pots.

Flowers
And lots of flowers.

Pots
I filled the larger pots with potting soil and planted the flowers.

Wagon

Pots
I filled the empty spots with all the smaller pots and saucers.

Pots

Wagon
This is what I ended up with!

Wagon
Who knows what our little wagon will be used for next year, but for now it seems to cheer up this spot in our front yard. Thank you for taking a look and I hope you have a great start to your week!

Kelli, what a cute idea. I too found a wagon similar to yours but for now mine is in the shed....I will have to think about what I will do with mine. But I like your idea a lot. Dianntha

That's a beautiful wagon idea. I have my own "Radio Flyer" which was given to me (a new one) last years as a gift. It is a wonderful helper in the yard.
I even put in protective padding before I haul anything in it. I'm picky about my wagon!

What a cute idea to do with the old rusty wagon. I'd be in trouble if I tried something like that as the grandkids love playing with our old Radio Flyer. It's rusty but goes like the wind. Maybe when they grow up I will give it a try.

Kelli, Love your little wagon! I did a post a couple of weeks ago, of one I spotted but left by the road in a pile of rubbage. When I went back, the whole pile was gone, including the precious little old wagon! :o( Yours portable flower garden turned out great!

Hope you had a wonderful Mother's Day! Rhonda :)

What a clever idea. I have a wagon from when my oldest was small, but it's missing a wheel. I bet I could find something to do with it.

What a cute idea. I love the thought of using something that no one wanted any more for such a unique planter.

I found your blog from Kindra's blog--it is so cute. I really like the idea with the wagon. I did that one year with an old wheelbarrow--until the bottom rusted out. Come visit me sometime.

I'm SO stealing that idea and doing it when we return from the trip.

You should write a book on decorating, you're just amazing :)

Thank you for the prayers for the trip, looks like things are finally getting done :)

Hugs,
Sandra

Love it! One person's trash is another person's treasure. We used to have wagons like that for Cub Scout Day Camp...so if your son is going, it's a great way to carry stuff!!

It sounds like a lovely Mother's Day, Kelli. Your wagon planter is so cute. Have a nice evening. It's funny, a couple of people have asked if you are our sister. Our sister spells her name just like your do ~ Kelli, and she homeschools!! You fit right in.

Hugs and smiles, Kathi

Very pretty! I have my husband's red wagon from his childhood on my front porch. I also have the wagon that my inlaws bought and kept at their house for my kiddos. When the kids got older, the inlaws gave it to me! I treasure them both and use them together at Christmas.

Take care!

I have my kids old wagon and love the idea. My mom and I used it for years hauling things around in the yard. I plan on doing the flower pot thing in mine.
