This past Saturday, the girls and I had a spur of the moment Girls Afternoon Out. We headed out to our city's Old Town Square, where there was a 4th of July celebration going on. We visited the shops, drank raspberry punch and had a fun time together.
We stopped by our favorite antique/junk store and Grace fell in love with this beautiful Native American doll.
Tiny moccasins.
Doesn't she have a pretty face? Her eyes close when you lay her down and she is holding a little papoose.
We also went to "The Pink House" which is a neat gift shop. It's a very old house with lots of rooms, narrow staircases and an hidden attic room where they display their Christmas decorations.
I bought these sticker sheets at a great price of $0.67 each.
I found some old hankies and plan on adding a little embroidery to the corners.
And finally two old rusty keys for my collection.
Thank you for looking at our new finds!

I used to have an Indian doll very much like your daughters. I bought it years ago at "South of the Border" for my doll collection.
What neat finds! Thank you for sharing your treasures with us!
What a lovely day out, Kel! Grace and I get away together but I can't wait 'til she's older and it's a true Mother/Daughter experience. :o) How fun!
What a precious doll...I LOVE THE PAPOOSE!
What a fun afternoon. I love the finds!
Love,
Terri

I had that EXACT Indian doll as a child. How fun seeing it again! I hope she enjoys it.
Glad you had a wonderful afternoon out.
I love the doll
I really wish you lived closer. My Grace would love your Grace! My Grace bought a "Carrie" doll to go with her Little House doll collection. Now she just needs Pa and Mary. And she loves Native American dolls too. I am glad you had such a nice 4th.
Jenn :-)
I have almost the same indian girl. :) It was my mom's and I think my grandpa got it for her when he was on one of his truck driving trips. I will have to get it out and take a picture of it sometime for you. :)
Wonderful finds! I have been looking for old keys like that to start collecting. They are so neat. I have found some at our Antique mall but they did not look *vintage* enough! a little too shiny still. What a fun day you had!
Love,
Kelly
What pretty finds. I love antique stores. Thanks for sharing
Crystal
Sounds like loads of fun. I lve days loke this.
That doll is amazing! I wonder if its supposed to be Sacajawea. The Indian girl who carried her baby while on an expedition with Lewis and Clark. Either way, I think she's great!
wow! What a fun day for you and the girls, thats what Gillian and I like to do. Just some time to be together. And that doll is cute! Gillian also has a Native American doll. I love the keys, and the hankies are cute! Thanks for sharing!

I only have one girl to have a "Girl's Day Out" with - but we do that a couple or so times a year.
The Indian doll and papoose is very cute. I love going to junk stores!
Oh I love your finds. I love vintage textiles too. You always find such neat things.
Did you go to the Old Craft Store? I used to be one of my favorite places. BTW thanks for coming by last night. I am about to Tackle some things today on Tues. have a great day.
Smiles,
Sherry
Kelli, time with those little girls is so precious. I remember days like that. You got such a deal on the stickers! I get a sampler of Dover Books pages every week, though, and have gotten some things like that for free. You just have to copy, cut and paste them. Have you been to their site?
Beautiful handkerchiefs! I was wondering what you think is a good price for keys like that. I'm finding them to be pretty high in the place where I usually go. I think one like that would probably be about $3 there. Too much?
Nancy
Your girls afternoon out sounds just lovely.
I love those hankies. Embroidery will set them off nicely.
God bless.
What a lovely afternoon with your daughters! That little indian doll is precious. She's been carrying that papoose around a long time, bless her heart!
Gosh, I'd love to go to the Pink House. What a great price for those sweet stickers. I've started collecting old fashion keys. I've only a few but they add a nice touch here and there.
Blessings to your day.
Gina
Sounds like you had a great day making memories with your girls.
You can't beat the deals either.
Love all your finds ~ I have a thing for old keys like this. I love Grace's indian doll ~ I had one like that years ago.

Oh my goodness, the little Indian doll!
Corin and I used to each have one, I'm sorry to say mine was not taken care of very well, I wonder if Corin still has hers?
What lovely treasures from your outing!
Looks like you had a wonderful outing! What fun and great treasures!

I remember having a doll like that. I love the hankies. I have a collection of them myself.
Sounds like you gals had a fun trip. The doll looks like one that my grandparents gave me years ago. I have no idea where it is now.
I also love the old keys and the linens. Some embroidery on the corners of those hankies will look terrific. Be sure to take photos when you are done.
FUN, FUN, FUN!! My two youngest girls have dolls like that one. They got them in South Dakota when we went to Mt. Rushmore. Looks and sounds like a a fun afternoon. Julie

I loved reading about your girls day out. I used to do that when my girls were little. Now they are in their 20's and we have even more fun!
I LOVE your site and will definitely be back to look around some more when I have more time. ESPECIALLY want to look into your yummy sounding recipes!
The Native American doll is lovely, it sounds as though you all had a lovely time. Enjoyed reading your Simple Woman's Daybook post too.
I absolutely love girl's days like yours. Alaina and I love to browse antique stores, too.
Christie also loves it when we're able to be together. Ashley's not a big fan of it, but she has a little one that keeps her very busy these days. Funny what you pass on to your children.
I'm excited to see what you embroider on those hankies.
Have a blessed week, Kelli.
Karen

Th Pink House sounds like a neat place to poke around....love the hankies and keys....Grace found a sweet treasure. Does she collect dolls? Hugs, Linda
A lovely photo of your daughter and her new doll! Great finds for sure!
The lovely doll is quite a find. I can tell that she has been tenderly loved by another before Emily found her. Such a treasure!
I recently found a package of paper at the "Everything's a Dollar" store with 8 sheets.
I love browsing through those shops and the doll is beautiful.
