Teacups and Seashells

Thank you for your comments on our Girls Afternoon Out. I think it is neat that many of you have the same (or similar) doll!

I added various seashells to my dining room teacup shelf last week and thought I would share a few pictures.

I LOVE this idea!! I have tons of shells (we've lived close to the ocean at 3 Marine bases now) and special rocks (chunk of garnet found in desert in AZ, purple ones, geodes, etc..) we have collected. I also now have about 6 old teacups and saucers that I haven't been able to quite figure out how to display. This would probably work perfectly for me to be able to use the rocks and shells. Thanks for showing this picture today :-)

God bless,
Sallie

What a lovely summer display! I somehow lost my collection of shells in our last move. I'm still sad about that. I guess I need to start collecting again this year when we go to the beach.

Kelli, you never cease to amaze me. I've done a lot of things with seashells, but never thought to pair them with fine china. this is lovely.

How pretty, Kel! I love the trifle dish filled with sand and shells. We're going to the beach at the end of August and I'm yearning for it soooo badly...your beautiful display is appeasing me in the meantime. :o) When we first moved into this place and redid the bathroom it was a subtle nautical theme, and so it was cool to see you working that into your home as well. Shells are always so pretty! Every time I see displays of them I think of Jane Austen's half-completed (finished by another author) novel "Sanditon". They collected shells on the beach (and seawood I think, too?).

Beautiful! This is the first year I have put my sea shells in a funky wooden bowl on my dining room table. The bowl was made by my grandfather, who died in 1968. And the shells are perfect in it.

How pretty those shelves look! And I love the card tutorial yesterday (I'm a little behind on my reading!) Thank you for sharing that.

You inspire me to use my creativity more!

I LOVE seashells, as a matter of fact we brought back a huge bag from our trip to the beach in South Africa. Now I can say I have seashells all the way from Africa LOL

Love it :)

I like the way you change things around. Did you collect these shells at the beach. I have put out my summer centerpiece. It is a low bowl with shells, a candle and a turtle. I hadn't thought about adding sand but that is a good idea. My shells came from the beach at Naples Forida.

You did an awesome display! Great eye Candy for the soul, thanks for sharing it with us. The spiral wreath in back just adds to the touch also, soft and texture.

What a pretty display. I love the colour of your shelves and the pretty cups and the shells are so lovely for summer! You lived in Canada. I'm in Ontario. Where did you live and how long ago did you move? Maybe I should read your profile.... lovely blog.

Hey Kelli-- I have to join everyone else in saying that I just love the way these look-- I have asked my husband to buy and hang some shelves in our dining room so I can do something similar. I think I will change out what I add with the teacups-- fall leaves, paper snowflakes, flowers... you could make it a seasonal shelf and just always keep the teacups-- love it! Thanks for the inspiration! :)
