Grace's Things

Closet

Grace asked me for her own blog last week but I told her she could have one when she is a little older. In the meantime, she would like to to share a few photos of what she has been up to lately. First, is a corner of her bedroom closet. She has lots of little stuffed animals and she likes to make houses and gardens for them. These critters are lucky enough to have a tree even!

Grace loves to draw and paint. Here is a teapot that she painted for me. She used acrylic paint.

Finally, one of her favorite poems. She really doesn't like going to
bed while it is still light out!

~Bed In Summer~

In winter I get up at night
And dress by yellow candle-light,
In summer, quite the other way,
I have to go to bed by day.

I have to go to bed and see
The birds still hopping in the tree,
Or hear the grown-up people's feet
Still going past me in the street.

And does it not seem hard to you,
When all the sky is clear and blue,
And I should like so much to play,
To have to go to bed by day?

-Robert Louis Stevenson

Thanks for looking!

Kelli,
I am going to share this poem with my four children, who also don't like to go to bed when it's still light out. Hopefully they'll feel a little better knowing they aren't the only ones!! :-)

Tell Grace that we LOVE her house and garden. Chloe was very impressed with her tea pot. She says she could never paint one like that. Clarice
PS. My girls would like a blog too!!

Grace, thank you for sharing pictures of your special corner and your painting! I showed it to my girls and they really enjoyed it, especially the horse in the barn.

PS - The poem is wonderful, too!
