"Show and Tell Friday"
Welcome to Show and Tell Friday!" Do you have something special to share with us? It could be a trinket from grade school, a piece of jewelry, an antique find. Your show and tell can be old or new. Use your imagination and dig through those old boxes in your closet if you have to! Share photos and if there's a story behind your special something, that's even better!
I have two childhood outfits to share with you today.
Back in 1978 when I was 2 years old, my Uncle Harry and Aunt Betty went to visit Scotland and they brought back this outfit for me.
A small kilt and white satin blouse.
A kilt pin.
Lace on the end of the sleeve.
Lace ruffles on the front of the blouse. Does anyone know the exact name of this?
Here I am in September of 1978. The baby is my sister, Jenny.
This next outfit is a dress, made for me by my Great Grandmother back in 1980. She must have been quite old, but still able to sew well.
A sweet starry sky fabric.
A few hand sewn stitches.
Delicate lace on the front of the dress.
Three tiny buttons on the back.
This photo was taken in 1981, when I was 5. In addition to a sister, I now had a baby brother!
Thank you for looking at my show and tell!
The Show and Tell Guidelines have changed. Please read them before participating!!

How precious!!!! what a treasure to have, I wish I still had some of my favorite little outfits I remember them so clearly!
My Show & Tell is not in line with the guidelines this week LOL
I promise to be back to share next Friday for sure!
Have a wonderful weekend!
That little Scottish outfit is so cute especially with you modeling it. How great that you still have the clothes and the photos to document the history! Blessings...
How cute those outfits are! I have a little kilt that my daughter wore when she was a baby, now her son is going to get to wear it :-)
I love the outfits, and such a connection to your relatives!!!
I am reflecting on the Antique Road Show, how you have the photographs and the story!
Those are so sweet! How neat to have some childhood dresses from special people, plus pictures of yourself in them!
Good morning from Germany!
Kelli, I am impressed, you still have those cute cloths of your childhood!
Did your girls wear them too when they were little? And do you still keep some of the baby outfits of your kids, too?
Have a wonderful and not too hot Friday! Over here, it's cloudy but I hope we will get more sunshine this week-end!
I love the kilt outfit!
My heritage is Scotch-Irish so I have always wanted to buy my daughter a kilt to have her photo taken in. :-)
Kelli, those are totally precious! What wonderful keepsakes!
What a privilege to have had a great grand parent, and one who left something for YOU!
Oh my! I just love how you showed us the lace and details on your little scottish dress! And the other made me feel old! You were wearing that in 1980! I was 20 then! Both are adorable and such precious treasures for you to have held on to.
LOVE the dresses! That kilt and blouse are amazing. That's so neat that you still have the outfits AND the pictures to go with them!!
Absolutely adorable. I wish I had some of the oufits I had at that age! Priceless!
I love keepsake clothes. It is wonderful to touch and feel the memories.
Blessings and bliss
Those two outfits are just adorable and omigosh, the memories behind them. Love that you even have a picture of you wearing the little kilt outfit...precious, precious, precious!!! xox
Kelli, forgot to mention the answer to your question about the frill or ruffle on the blouse. It is called a jabot.
Blessings and bliss
Kelli, I think it so neat to still have the dresses and the photos of your wearing them. The family photo of the three of you is just adorable.
Darling outfits! What a treasure the one made by your great grandmother.

Wow, this is eerie!! Just the other day I was thinking about my 'kilt' style skirt!!! Mine was red beige and off white coloration...it was wool, and the huge safety pin was gold! I wore it every time the cleaners finished cleaning it and dad brought it home!! I loved that skirt!!!
Great show and tell!! Mine's posted too. About an 'antique' keyboard of mine!!!
I love the kilt!!! What a special thing to have. The lovely dress your grandmother made for you is a real treasure. Thanks for shaving them both. I also loved the pictures of you wearing the outfits.
You are so lucky you still have some baby clothes of your own...how wonderful you have something made by your great grandmother...cherish it and pass it down...happy Friday.
Those outfits are just adorbale. I wish I had some of the outfits my great aunt Clara made me. They were always my favorite to wear.
I can't believe what great shape your cute little dresses are in! I especially like the Scottish outfit. The pictures of you and your siblings are precious.
What absolute sweet little dresses!!! I had a little kilt when I was little...

Those outfits are too cute, I love the first one. I bet these mean so much to you.
Oh I think it is so neat that you still have those. How wonderful! Your girls favor you when you were little.
It is so neat you still have them and pictures of you wearing it too.
I believe it's called a Jabot blouse. It's SO cute, the whole outfit!
I didn't get mine up, I still can't find the wire to connect the camera to my laptop. I have another idea, but there are no pictures involved, just links and I don't know if that's allowed.
Oh, be careful around Bloggy Land, there's a virus going around.
How adorable. I love the kilt and blouse. What a neat treasure.
Kelli, I love your sweet dresses and all the memories that go with them. Precious.
Oh Kelli, that one of you in the blue dress looks like you now! How fun. Did you ever let your girls wear these dresses? Very special. Have a great weekend. Keep cool!
Amazing... You obviously have a centimental mother who saved these cherished treasures for you!
What a blessing!
Thanks for sharing.
Cute little outfits. Thanks for sharing them with us.
Your little dresses are adorable! Did your girls ever wear them?
OM gosh! I had a kilt too with one of those huge silver (diaper) pins. I loved to wear it. I wish I still had it, but sadly it must have been given away.
So adorable, Kelli! And so much fun to see pictures of you when you were just a wee one! ;o)
Kelli, they are both darling. What special memories they hold. Thanks for sharing.
What darling outfits Kelli!
I still have some baby outfits that I wore...
I also have a baby shoe of my dad's...
Treasures to be sure!
Have a blessed day and weekend ahead!
I love the hand stitching and details on the clothing.
My close friend's first sofa as a young married lady was exactly like the sofa you're sitting on in the photo. How fun! Take care, Sue
Oh, Kelli, those little dresses are precious. And the pictures of you and your family are cute too.
Oh Kelli, the outfits are so cute! How special that you still have them.

when you get a chance, check out my post for today. you've been tagged!
The kilt is great.. ;o]
How sweet, Kelli! I had to skim through 46 comments to make sure your question hasn't been answered already. The lace thing at the neck of the blouse is a 'jabot'.
My first child was 2 years old in 1978, too (-:
Both outfits are precious! It is wonderful that you have these mementos of your childhood--and the pictures to match. Great Show and Tell!
I love these treasures that you shared today! So neat to have the outfits and pictures of you wearing them!
Cute little outfits! I'm wondering if either of your girls ever wore them.
Enjoyed the photos.
My favorite dress was my Christmas party ensemble I got when I was 9 or 10: White silky blouse with ruffles, a Christmas-y plaid (red, green, black) ankle-length skirt, and black patent leather shoes. I wish I still had the outfit.
Oh goodness...what treasures. So fun that you have the outfits and the photos with you in them.
Great Show and Tell!
Mine is up.
What a special show and tell! I think it is so neat how you have saved the dresses and have the pictures to go along with them! Looking back I can still remember exactly what all my favorite childhood dresses looked like! It must be a "girl" thing;o)
Those are so cute Kelli!
My dad is from Scotland and I have the whole kilt outfit too. I have a few photos somewhere at my mom's house. I will have to find them and share. Yours brought back memories.
Really cute outfits-I especially love the kilt. You were the cutest little model. How neat to still have these special dresses from your childhood.
Oh, how precious! I love them both and the pictures of you as a little girl wearing them! I was looking back over a few of your posts (since I've missed soooo much), and just had a good giggle at the picture of the lego covered floor. We've had this scenario at our house numerous times. So much fun until you have to pick them back up! Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
I love those precious dresses! I'm sure they are such treasures for you that bring back great memories of when you were younger.
The blue dress reminds me of one that I had as a child. I used to love dressing up on Sundays, tights and all, with my Sam and Libby shoes on!
Darling outfits! Wonderful that you (and your mother) kept them all these years, and in these days of throw-away everything. I hope others will learn from this and keep some of their children's clothes (and toys, etc.!) I wish I had kept some!
Ah, what cute outfits. It's great that you've kept them all these years since they're handmade. Thanks for sharing!
What treasures from your childhood Kelli. I also have a few things made from when I was very small. I'll try to show them in an upcoming show n tell.
I think it's so cool you have the dress your grandma made you! I'd love to have something like that! I also love the kilt. Hubby and I really want to go to Scotland soon! Since both sides of his family and one side of mine are Scottish, we want to go over and explore some of our roots! Thanks for sharing!
YAY!!!! Guess what I found at the bottom of the clean laundry basket. I'm glad I decided to fold laundry-LOL! I remember throwing it in there while picking the junk off my floor--oops!
Very sweet memories for you and you've kept these all those years! I am not surprised because that just you! A nice you..I loved your story about the Jays on my comments..Jays are my favorite bird! hugs NG
Those outfits are amazing! So cool that you still have them AND have a photo of you wearing them as a child. That is wonderful!
My (first) show and tell is up also! Thank you!
Kelli, How nice to have such treaseures still. ionly have my baby blankets and my son uses one now.
I am blown away by the fact that you have been able to keep these little dresses from your childhood in such great condition! I remember having a tartan skirt when I was about 10 years old (1958). I loved that skirt and wore it for years, until it just didn't fit me anymore!
My first visit and I am impressed. Wow. So much nice stuff here.

Can you believe you actually used to wear something so small?...even more unfathomable is to wonder can your children imagine that you were ever so small?!!
I don't know if I am the only one to think this but that blue dress reminds me so much of the blue dresses that Ma made for Laura and Mary in that Little House episode. One of my favorites!
What a precious outfit from Scotland...my husband's forefathers came from Scotland.
The dress made by your great-great grandmother is a wonder heirloom....
Great Show and Tell, Kelli! Love the picture of you as a little girl in the sweet outfit from your aunt and uncle!
