Hello! This beautiful moonflower greeted me late this afternoon. I planted seeds along with the morning glories, but have only seen one bloom before today.
Another flower mid bloom.
Phillip has been out of town this week and finally got home today. I made a big pot of chili and baked a batch of pumpkin cookies.
I doubled the recipe, adding white chocolate chips to half the dough and butterscotch chips to the other half.
Pumpkin Butterscotch Cookies
1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 cup pumpkin
1 tsp. vanilla
2 cups flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. cloves
1 1/2 cups butterscotch, white chocolate or chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 350.F Cream the butter and sugars. Add pumpkin and vanilla. In separate bowl, stir together dry ingredients. Add to butter mixture and stir. Add butterscotch chips. Drop by teaspoons onto a greased cookie sheet and bake for 8-10 minutes or until lightly browned around the edges. Allow to cool on sheet for several minute, then remove to cooling rack.
The chili looks like a perfect fall meal- and those cookies look delectable!

Thank you! I couldn't figure out what to do today to celebrate Sabbath, but now we'll make Pumpkin Cookies and gift them to our neighbors.

I have been craving pumpkin lately and made a pumpkin pie the other day. Those pumpkin cookies look good! I'm going to copy the recipe and try those!
you make the most wonderful foods! do you have a grandmother hiding in the back ground? LOL just kidding. your cookies are so unique. I love sweet potato anything, pumpkin not so much. I never thought of making cookies this way. It will be fun for the grandkids and when we make our pumkin faces, I'll use it. I used to grow the moon flower, that I got seeds from a lady, I have tried soaking store bought seeds overnight, but no moon flowers. Yours are BEAUTIFUL!!!
I made these cookies yesterday and they were yummy! I think I'll try the white chips next time. Interesting that this recipe doesn't call for any eggs, but still plenty moist!
Yum that chili looks great! We had a big pot of baked beans for dinner Thursday, and I re-served them as a side-dish after Kaia's performance yesterday. That with roast, and veggies and cake to celebrate. (I just posted a photo of her in her bee costume, about the same time you left me a comment)
I will have to try those pumpkin cookies! I have a ton of pumpkin in cans and the freezer.
Have a wonderful Sunday!

First of all, morning glory here is a weed!...lol I was laughing when I saw that you planted those! Maybe I should just give into them and enjoy them as a flower instead of fighting them!.. I have been fighting that plant for 18 years now!...lol
