"Show and Tell Friday"
Welcome to Show and Tell Friday!" Do you have a something special to share with us? It could be a trinket from grade school, a piece of jewelry, an antique find. Your show and tell can be old or new. Use your imagination and dig through those old boxes in your closet if you have to! Feel free to share pictures and if there's a story behind your special something, that's even better!
My show and tell this week is more books. I found these school workbooks from 1929, 1933, 1935 and 1937 at the resale store a few weeks ago. They were $3.00 each. I'm sure they were much cheaper 70+ years ago!!
I love the pictures on the covers...
Here is a peek at the math workbook. There are plenty of pictures inside, some of them have been colored.
Click on the pictures to enlarge. It looks like someone didn't do their homework. :0)
Here is a page of riddles...
"I fall without a sound a sound. I cover all the world with a soft blanket of white. I keep the seed babies snug in their beds. What am I?
I come at night. I help the leaves turn red and yellow and brown. I help nuts and pumpkins ripen. I make pictures on your window. What am I?
My plan is to type up a bunch of these pages for fun summertime schoolwork and I would be happy to share them, just send me an email and let me know!
If you would like to join in for Show and Tell, here are the guidelines:

My show and tell stems off an old black and white photo taken in the 50's.
Kelli, Hi!
Love the books that you found at the resale shop. You are so good at finding these type of treasures. I'm sure you will have fun using them this summer.
I posted my show and tell after all today. (Hehe) I'm supposed to be on a blogging break.
I wasn't going to but knew I would be gone all week long next week.
I knew I would miss all of you fellow blog friends if I didn't post today.
What a neat find! It would be neat to read some of the exercises from those days, and to think of the little scholars who used the books. And it's neat that it can be used for kids today, too!
Fun stuff, Kelli! I love the illustrations in those books. Have a great weekend!

Kelli,
I love old books and you have found some really good ones! Isn't it nice that you can still use these books for teaching your children? I bought the old McGuffy readers and used them when I homeschooled my daughter. There was always a moral lesson to be learned in each story. I just love them!
Have a great weekend!
The pictures on the covers are great. Those were a great find!
Oooh. I love old books! The pictures were lovely on them and I love the critical thinking questions.

My show and tell offering today is a piece of pottery given to me by my husband's grandma. I'm sharing it today in honor of her homegoing and today's funeral service. It's a fun story!!!

Oh how I love old book and yours look very interesting.....neat pictures. I forgot to post your Show and Tell Friday but will remember next week.
Hi Kelli!
I'll bet you could enlarge some of the fun pics from these workbooks and embroider them on kitchen towels. I think the last one, the lady being chased by the mice would be adorable done up on a towel! So many projects, so little time! HUMPH!
Have a great weekend!

Those are fantastic. I love the illustrations in old children's books. I have some old illustrated children's books and have been meaning to scan the pictures so I can print them and frame them. That way I don't have to rip up the old book.
Thanks for the show and tell.
What a great find. I would love the pages if it wouldn't be too much trouble for you. You are so lucky to have nice resale shops near you!
Oh, how fun! I love the pictures. Kelli ~ I can't remember the title of our old-fashioned, re-published grammar books, but I'm going to pull them out, find a link and send it to you. You and your girls would love them (You may already be using them - lol!).
Oh I love vitage school thing, being a teacher and all. Neat find.
I always have good intentions of participating in your show and tell Kelli - but I never get at it! I'll get my act together some day soon!
I love you workbooks - they are just too sweet for words! I would love to be e-mailed your typed workpages for the children, but no hurry at all! We are just getting warmed up with our summer plans!
What a great find. I love the illustrations. How kind you are to share them with us.
Oh...I just love old books...what a great find! Well, it took me all day, but I finally posted my show and tell!
I love your workbooks! I love old books, particularly those connected to school/learning. Speculating about the people who had them first is fun.
Thanks for letting me know that my link was not working. I fixed it. I made a mistake the first time--probably because I was trying to do fifty things at once! You know, that seldom works out well.
What a treasure you found! I love looking at old magazines, books, etc. I'm always spending way too much time in the book sections of antique stores. LOL!
what a cool show and tell! Old schoolbooks are so neat. I like looking at old Mcguffey readers.
The children will really enjoy those books...what cute riddles!!
What a wonderful treasure! I love old books, and these are a great find! Can you imagine all the children who learned so much from these pages...well, maybe except for the little one who didn't finish his work! LOL
Have a blessed weekend,
Amy
