~Scenes From Our Day~

Thank you so much for sharing your special summer memories and your favorite ways to spend a summer evening with me. I enjoyed reading all of your comments! With at least another month of hot days ahead, it's a good idea to remind ourselves of the nice things about summer!

Today, I want to share with you some scenes from our day...

After several weeks of vacation we are getting back to our school work. We try to keep up with writing, reading and math during the summer.

Some coloring time too, or course! It looks like we need to work on that "clean as we go" thing!

Speaking of cleaning, after hearing so many wonderful things about the Mrs. Meyer's cleaning products I picked up some dish soap, window cleaner and counter spray. I got the Geranium scent and I *love* it! There is also a little rose and clove added. Here is what the bottle says....

Geraniums, so pleasing to the eye on a summer day, are said to uplift and soothe the mind with their refreshing floral scent. Peace of mind while you clean.

Out in the garden things are growing well...

After waiting several years, I'm finally getting some lavender flowers!

Emily's Sugar Snap Peas...

Morning Glories climbing up the fence.

For dinner tonight, Grace made Momma Roar's Ham and Cheese Pie.

It was delicious, thank you for the recipe, Leigh Ann! There aren't any leftovers for lunch so we'll be making this again!

Jennifer shared a recipe for Strawberry Banana Smoothies and I made them for dessert tonight. I didn't have any bananas so I used 1 1/2 cups of strawberries. They were so good!! Emily asked if I could make them again for breakfast tomorrow. :0)

Thank you for looking at the scenes from our day!

Loved the pictures! I think I need to try that ham and cheese pie!! It looks great. Wow...you do school year round? I do not want summer to end and homework to start again.

I wonder where I can get those cleaning products in Canada!

I love Mrs. Meyers!! The Geranium is also my favorite. I like the old fashioned labels on the products.
That ham and cheese pie looks yummy!!

The pie crust made my mouth water! It's amazing how fast the summer has whizzed along. I see people at WalMart all the time shopping for school supplies.

I'm so glad you enjoyed that pie - it is so yummy - since my children are smaller, we usually have a few pieces leftover - yum!

I really enjoyed your scenes from your day!!

I have two lavendar plants, both young and I got about six flower stalks this year. It has been a SORE temptation to see friends with established plants turned BUSHES. I am glad someone is like me, happy with ONE stalk! :-)

That Mrs. Meyers. I have heard about it before. Do you have to order it online or is it available at shops? Is it very expensive? The smell sounds WONDERFUL!

LOoks like Grace is going to be a good cook!

Thanks for sharing pictures of your day. We're working on the "put-it-away-when-you're-done-with-it" thing, too. :)

Blessings,

It was so nice to see your day! I have heard amazing things about those cleaning products. Will have to try them out myself. The snap peas are so pretty!

I use the Ms. Meyer's clean day Geranium too and have for a few years! It's my favorite of the scents. It makes a bathroom smell amazing all day long!! Plus I like that it isn't toxic and a little goes a long way!!

That pie looks amazing! I can't begin to tell you how exciting it is to see someone who really likes to cook and do things for/with their family. It's so refreshing to see the pictures and read the events your family does. So many familys today have lost the wholesome solitude of being a family at home, eating home cooked meals. Refreshing I tell you, refreshing! Your recollection of the game Trouble reminded me of my own time playing that game as a young girl. We must be about the same age.

Have a fantastic day!! -Kriss

Seeing the school supplies sure brought memories back for me! We were always so excited to go shopping for these. Your garden looks beautiful. The pie looks *oh my yummy*!!!! There is no store very near to me that sells Mrs. Meyers. Sniff. I think I would have such a hard time picking a fragrance!

Your garden and that pie is delicious. I am inspired to go clean and water my meager little tomato plants now. I need to try that pie sometime - I've never tried a savory pie - only fruity! Yum!

I'm impressed that you keep up with some school during the summer. It looks like you all had a lovely day. Grace's supper looked great!

I LOVE making smoothies for breakfast!! :) I use fresh fruits but sometimes when the store's fruit selection looks a little bleak, I will use a frozen bag of mixed fruits/berries.
When I was a kid, I used to spend hours reading books during the summer. I was such a nerd!! ;)

Kelli, thanks for letting me "share" in your day!! I'm so glad you got Mrs. Meyers~ I knew you would love it! I have not tried the geranium scent, so after your wonderful recommendation that will be the next on my list! Your garden is looking wonderful and I'm thinking that ham and cheese pie would be mighty nice for tomorrow's supper;o)

That pie looks so yummy! My mouth is actually watering!

Back into the swing of things! How was your kids' "first day back"? We've got a few more weeks, but we're going shopping for lunch boxes tomorrow, so the girls are getting a little excited.

Geranium is, hands down, my favorite too!

I have seen the Mrs. Meyer's cleaning products in my local Kroger store. I've been tempted to buy them. Thanks for sharing your day.

I haven't been around in a few days so I enjoyed browsing through your posts (and they look mighty delicious I might add!)!

I'm going to be on the lookout for Meyers cleaning products! My friend picked up a bottle of it at TJMaxx and after seeing your post, I'd love to try some of those products!

Kelli,

We haven't started our schooling back yet, we'll do that after Labor Day. It is just a habit of ours, since I never started school before then when I was little.

I LOVE Mrs. Meyer's cleaning products. I have the lavender sink scrub, cleaning spray and ironing spray. I also have the honeysuckle cleaning kit, which includes dish soap, window cleaner, counter spray and cleaner. My girls will clean EVERYTHING as long as I give them spray bottles full of Mrs. Meyer's. I also like it that I don't have to worry about my girls using it - no harsh chemicals like many other cleaners.

Your lavender plant is beautiful. I have tried to grow that before, and I'm trying again this year, with a little more luck than I've had in the past. Still no blooms, though.

Kelli, this was such a homey post. I enjoyed it very much.
The scent of your cleaning products sounds wonderful. I've never heard of Mrs. Meyer's before. I love the thought of peace of mind while I clean...I'll have to look for some of that!
Best wishes to you today!

Kelli, I enjoy your lovely blog. I am wondering if there is anything you cannot do? You are just amazing to me. Everything always looks so pretty: gardens, home, food, pictures, family, etc. And I have noticed how thoughtful you are. :-)

I made both the strawberry banana smoothies (with 1/2 cup strawberries and 1/2 banana - I think I'd use 1 1/2 cup strawberries next time) AND the ham and cheese "pie" today. They are both wonderful!!! Thanks for sharing. :-)
