Homemade Bookmark

Bookmark
I always have lots of leftover scrapbook paper after making cards, so today I'm going to show you what I use it for: homemade bookmarks!

Bookmark
Cut a rectangle of scrapbook paper or cardstock approx. 2 x 5 1/2"

Tag
Cut a small oval from cardstock. Add a stamp, sticker or writing.

Bookmark
Decorate the bottom half of bookmark. I also cut the corners with decorative scissors.

Bookmark
Punch a hole through the small oval and top of bookmark. I added the gold border around the oval by dabbing it with an inkpad.

Ribbon
Tie on a bow.

Ready for you to use or send to a friend! Here are a few more bookmark ideas...

If you cut the paper shorter, you can make gift tags. I hope you have enjoyed this week's paper project!

I think those will be my next project...I work at a great antique store/eatery and I was able to find some really neat old keys to copy your birds nest project...next I'm going to tackle this one. Thanks for such wonderful ideas!

Well now that is a very smart idea for using up those leftover scrapbooking papers. I'll pass this on to Christie. She's got a ton of scraps she could do this with. Thank you for sharing this!

How pretty - and they’re relatively simple to do. That sweet ribbon is a nice touch. I appreciate you showing us step by step: I learn better that way!

You're a jewel, Kelli!

These are great. What kind of adhesive did you use to attach the oval to the bookmark?

Kelli said...

No glue...the tag is attached only with the ribbon.

I am doing these with my 5th grade Sunday School class for Mother's Day.
Thanks for the inspiration! We are also wrapping up a tea bag with kisses and hugs (edible!) in some pretty tissue paper for a wonderful blessing for Mom. All she needs to add is a good mug and her favorite mug for a terrific relaxing time-out.

sorry, my comment should have read; a good "book" and her favorite mug....this mom is too busy!!! haha
