Weekend Chit~Chat

Water garden
Hello! Thank you so much for all of your wonderful comments about my embroidered sachet! It is all wrapped up for the bridal shower tomorrow.

In garden news, I just noticed that my sunflowers are beginning to bloom.

I'm pretty sure I planted "Mammoth" seeds, but these flowers are only about 4 inches across.

I spent some time organizing my magazines this past week. I have several back summer issues of Victoria to read through again.

Along with the newest issue of Martha Stewart.

There is a neat idea of using corks to make blueberry stamps that I can't wait to try.

And doesn't this look delicious?

It's supposed to get up to 103F today, so we'll be drinking lots of lemonade and trying to stay cool. I hope you all have a great weekend!

Hi Kelli! I always look forward to your weekend chit chat - I wish we could do it in person! I'm glad you are having such a nice weekend. My hubby was at work, but I got to glean the treasures of our local farm market today - such fun! Handmade soap and transparent apples - and super sweet golden plums! Mmmm. I need to have a bit of a rest, but later I hope to start some plum butter and apple jelly. My pantry is bursting with jams and relish to enjoy and give away - what a great feeling!

This post is a treat for the eyes!! I, too, was perusing through the latest MS Living this morning--and I would also love to try stamping blueberries! That is such a cute project, I just don't know if I'll get around to it. Can't wait to see if you try it! And I sure could go for a tall glass of that lemonade right now--it's pretty hot & muggy here in Alabama!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Lovely post. I love the sunflowers they are so pretty. The pond looks inviting. Speaking of where's Daisy? My Daisy went for a car ride a little earlier and got ice cream. Wish I had a good camera. It is quite a sight. She could not figure out why cowboy was eating one too. She thinks they are all for her!
Thanks for sharing I love your garden.
Have a Blessed Sunday,

For years corks have been placed in a certain drawer in my kitchen. When the drawer becomes too full they are then put into a gallon ziploc bag and relegated to the far corners of a linen cupboard. I keep thinking one day I might just find a use for these corks. Thank you for sharing the idea about the blueberry stencils. I am seeing other things to be stamped with the corks too.....I see empty space in my cupboard's future and as Martha would say, "That's a good thing".

I'll join you on the lemonade, it was 110 earlier and now it's 6:30pm and still 104 LOL

Hi Kelli,
I so enjoy your weekend chit chat posts. I also loved reading about your fairy garden and seeing your great card tutorial. I'm always so inspired after visiting here.

kelli, your pond is beautiful! We just installed a pond but since it gets quite cold here up north, fishes are not an option. But water lilies are, lol

You know the drink that you showed from MSL, is it iced tea? I make ice tea with oranges and boy it is very good.

Yay! A sneak preview of the next Martha Stewart (we get it a month later in Oz - which is especially sad at Christmas).

I hadn't seen a sunflower unfold it's petals before and it seems missed one of nature's beautiful spectacles! Thanks for sharing!

Hi Kelli -

Your photos are lovely, as usual. Aren’t sunflowers just the cheeriest blossom?

I missed Show & Tell Friday (busy weekend!) but I just checked out your embroidered sachet bag. Oh my - it is incredibly beautiful! You do such fine work. :-)

Happy Sunday - stay cool!

I agree, those blueberry stamps look cute, but I don't think I'd use them on shoes...make a notecard!

All of these photographs are so appealing and say "summer" to me. I especially like the photo of your pond.

I have the new "Martha", but I haven't had time to really sit down and read it yet. The blueberry stamp is a clever idea.

My magazine reading is now down to four, only one of which I savor for the decorating and art. Mary Engelbreit's Home Companion is it! I do enjoy flipping through Victoria and Martha Stewart when I get the chance. :-)
