A Blustery Day

Gopher: If I was you, I'd think about skedaddlin' out of here.
Winnie the Pooh: Why?
Gopher: 'Cause it's "Winds-day."

We are having a "blustery" sort of day. When I opened my front door this morning, I was greeted by lots of lovely leaves.

I was supposed to clean the livingroom today but shopping sounded like more fun. ;0) We found some chocolate truffles and raspberry hot cocoa to help keep us warm. I also picked up a squash I've never tried before. It is called Sweet Dumpling. I mainly bought it because of the name, but I'm sure it tastes good too. :0)

I found some pretty Christmas cards. They read:

One thing at Christmas we always like to do
is send "God's Blessings" to special ones like you.

God Bless you with the most
joyous Christmas season.
"I thank God upon every remembrance of you." Philippians 1:3

I also picked up a Thanksgiving Menu at Whole Foods. I like to look through it for inspiration, I have no desire to spend $119.00 to feed 6-8!

Maple Roasted Sweet Potatoes, Parmesan Roasted Asparagus, Cornbread Pecan Suffing, Chocolate Pecan Pie...mmm....only 8 days until Thanksgiving!

I just discovered your lovely blog; it is so "homey" and encouraging! So what IS your menu for Thanksgiving? :)

Sounds like a fun shopping trip. I make roasted asparagus, but have never added the parmesan cheese. I bet that would be yummy!

You should have felt it out here in Ponder. I could barely open the door to go outside!

Lindsey, I was just thinking I need to plan my menu soon! Hopefully this weekend. :0)

Adriana, I found the cards at Mardel, which is a large Christian bookstore/Homeschool store.

I love reading your blog - you combine family news and daily inconsequentials with ideas and inspirations without ending up preachy or pompous like some bloggers do!

My housekeeping skills are alas not great these days and I haven't baked in over a year, but I do garden and struggle to keep the house at least "not a health hazard". I LOVE your cleaning up entries and your before and after shots. It is a relief to know that you homey types DO get into a mess and that it does get tidied up again, It gives me inspiration to do the same. (My living room, kitchen and bedroom are not so bad at the moment, so I'm on the crest of a wave this week!)
